I described my bout of Covid as "A cross between Flu and the worst hangover ever"

Not very helpful if you've never had Flu or a hangover I suppose.

how would it compare to, say, two clinically obese women squatting on your face?

just asking for a friend.

Tbf, i think Robb is half trolling but he is also raises a very good point

is the individualistic mentality in the west truely better than eastan/asian ideology of society over personal happiness?

*eastern/asian

Not sure it is society based any more than other places. China for instance has many cases of people, including children dying on roads after being run over and then being ignored.

The mask thing is one thing, just like the roads thing above.

Different cultures have their good, their bad, their mad. Asia as mentioned has billions of people in it and it's vastly different region to region
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are also strong collectivist traditions/societies in parts of the West, including, to give just two examples, in North America (until the Brits showed up) and contemporary Scandinavia.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
French and Spanish getting a by?
Russians in Alaska too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was gonna argue that the English were there first but then remembered the Spanish set up the first trading post in Florida, I think?

But none of them get a bye, no.

They all plundered and stole and oppressed and slaughtered; and whilst doing so, failed to learn very much at all from people who had a huge amount to offer in their knowledge and understandings of ecology, sociology, politics and philosophy (amongst other things).

“Covid is no different to the common cold”

Still some people busy educating themselves on YouTube, I see
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe they're just drawing off their own experience, or from the people they know who've had it?

Just because somebody has a different opinion doesn't make them a whackjob conspiracy theorist. I certainly aren't someone who is out there looking for answers to anything, but I've had Covid twice and yeah, it was no worse than a cold. If it wasnt for the whole isolation thing, I would have happily not missed a single day of work on either occasion. So why the hell should I waste a single minute giving a toss about it anymore? It's not a hoax, but it really isn't all that bad either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

what a dumb take.

It really isn't all that bad except for those that it really is that bad for, but feck them eh

Honestly don't understand how Ace ever gets any laughs.

Just a guy who in real life would be some meek melted cheese looking man pretending to be hard on the internet, with no wit or anything involved. Is it all just a Barry style WUM I'm not picking up on?

The definition of North America you've used is way too narrow anyway.

Yawn, even for Robb this is a laughable article. Guessing it’s a bad joke or something. If people want to wear masks that’s fair enough. There’s nothing ‘dumb’ about choosing not to wear one. I’ve had covid 4 times (that I know of). All 4 times I had it was when masks were mandated. Funnily enough since I stopped wearing a mask I haven’t had covid once.

I was only using it to frame the comment.

I don’t know anything about immediately pre- or post-Colombian Native American tribes south of the Rio Grande, tbh.

Are you just eating off the toilet seat and licking windows to get it four times?

south of the Rio Grande they mixed in with the European conquerors way more than north of it....due to the very different way the Spanish (and Portuguese in Brazil) colonised the new world, compared to the Northern Europeans in N America

Some pretty strong evidence that all 'native' Americans roots come from Asia when there was a land bridge from Russia to Alaska.
