Johnson will be the worst.

Achieved nothing good. Mired in controversy after controversy. Humiliated and refusing to leave with any dignity.

Kind of want him to call a snap election out of pure self preservation

Delivered Brexit and took us out of the cesspit of the EU

Times journalist Simon Nixon sums it up quite well I think…..

Good riddance to worst the prime minister in British history. Quite right that his shameful career should end in abject disgrace and humiliation. He and his wretched party have inflicted a political, economic and moral catastrophe on Britain from which it will struggle to recover
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thatcher was the worst PM in British history
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thatcher, and what she achieved was the 2nd greatest Prime Minister of the 20th Century

Gordon Brown and Theresa May are the joint holders of worst PMs in history.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So both are worse than the likes of Eden, Balfour, Percival and Boris? OK

posted on 6/7/22

It all depends on what you define ‘worst’ on….character, policies, outlook, what the did/didn’t do, personality, attitude etc etc

Tony Blair for his hand in the Iraq War…and the fallout (which we’re still dealing with today) of all that happened back then and how it changed the world forever, surely has to be in the top 5 for all time worst PM’s in British history

And there’s even talk of him wanting to make a political comeback

Twitter land is awosh with suggestions that BJ is looking to strike some sort of deal/stay of exercution with the 1922 suits that seems to revolve around him staying in office until August 3rd this year so he can have bragging rights over Theresa May's length of service as PM by a single day.
Somehow I don't think Boris Johnson beating TM's tenure as PM by 24hours is anything to be proud of or will dilute or disguise the shambolic, dishonest, shameful and embarrassing leadership and government this country has ever experienced.

That’s just nuts and surely can’t be true

Saving face by having bragging rights over Theresa May by 24 hours whilst the Country continues to go down the toilet

Surely not even Johnson can stomach that

posted on 6/7/22

HEY... Whether it is true or not, idk.. but I dread to think who the next incumbent at no. 10 will be because one way or the other The Conservative Party heirarchy like a Greek Communist Resistance Movement in WW2 are as ruthless as they get and will remove Boris Johnson soon, by hook or by crook and if he's lucky and goes quietly he'll get to keep his wedding tackle.

Theresa May wrote the worst manifesto in British history and was an absolute pu*at with Brexit doing nothing with it. Left wing people only like her now because she has her yaasss queeeen slaaay moments against Boris in parliamen.

Not a fan of either but Johnson (by some distance) the worst PM in living memory. Utterly out of his depth, and not even competent enough to fulfil ministerial duties never mind the office of PM.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He delivered Brexit (I appreciate that's subjective, but for the majority who voted in the EU referendum that's a good thing), I've been living a mostly free life in the 2nd half of 2021 and all of 2022 as opposed to many other countries who are still obsessed with COVID. Yes our pre vaccine response was diabolical but I after mass vaccine rollout I give it a 10/10, and the UK has lead the world in support of Ukraine. His handling of the economy when things have not been going well is horrific through, and ultimately that's the most important thing so he has to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In regard to brexit it was akin to a surgeon completing a complex 6hr procedure in 20mins. The TCA is a complete mess. And anyone with a passing interest on trade policy and/or customs facilitation will tell you the same. The UKgov will be in perpetual negotiations with the EU.

Covid also similarly mishandled with tens of thousands of deaths a direct result of the government's choices. Which is now a matter of public record (High Court judgment) as being unlawful.

Then there's the PPE scandal. The vaccine roll-out as we now know wasn't as successful as we were led to believe, with all the government's eggs put in Astrazeneca's basket. Resulting in the UK lagging behind most of Europe. And millions of pounds of vaccines being destroyed. Circa 8 billion of public money written off due to fraud.

Again the UKs support for Ukraine has also been misrepresented. Other countries have done much much more.

https://www.statista.com/chart/27331/countries-committing-the-most-of-their-gdp-to-ukraine-aid/

And the diabolical visa scheme. The only country in Europe to do so. Which incidentally has been exposed as less than useful as refugees are getting round it via Ireland (and the CTA) as highlighted today in parliament.

Ukraine has been a convenient guise to draw attention away from national issues.

In short when you actually look at the issues the government champion as a success, they're nearly always telling porkies.

I mean, there are also the facts that:

- He’s the first PM in history to have been found guilty of a criminal offence in office
- He unlawfully prorogued Parliament and lied to the Queen
- His govt spaffed billions on a failed Test and Trace system
- His govt handed countless COVID contracts directly - and unlawfully - to associates of ministers and officials
- He stood by Cummings after Barnard Castle
- His govt has been found to unlawfully refuse to respond to FoI requests
- He was caught (and stopped from) trying to use public money to attack the opposition
- “Let the bodies pile high”
- He’s stood by numerous ministers who have broken the Ministerial Code of Conduct, including in one notable case, more than once
- His govt has introduced legislation making the UK the only country in the developed world allowing for the criminalisation of law abiding peaceful protestors
- He has changed the rules to allow the Tories to hide the identities of donors
- He ordered Tory MPs to vote against the rules which would have seen Owen Paterson suspended for lobbying breaches (which they refused to do)
- The flat redecoration scandal, which he lied about on record
- He has been found to have lied to the public and in the Commons repeatedly

…I mean, it just goes on and on and on and on and on and on.

The most authoritarian *and* corrupt govt since at least the 1920s, without argument, stacked with incompetents, law-breakers and liars.

Just a shiiiiiit show in almost every conceivable way from start to (hopefully soon) finish.

History is also going to look back at Brexit and say:

1. It was comfortably the stupidest act of self-sabotage of the political era.

2. Even if we accept it had to go ahead, the Tories’ handling of it, particularly by Johnson’s cabal, was spectacularly incompetent and has resulted in a truly desperate outcome for the UK.

That’s a matter of opinion

I believe history will say it’s the best the UK did in the past 50 years - to separate ourselves from the cesspit and corruption of the EU and to own our own independence - the best thing Britain has done, and history will do on to show and prove this

But then again, that’s just MY opinion

It is an opinion; but there are also measurable outcomes, both quantitative (economic growth, balance of trade, inward investment, productivity, debt, quality of life indices, healthcare outcomes, happiness indices, etc.) and qualitative (strategic geopolitical power, diplomatic reach and influence, academic and cultural influence, environmental and public health protections, safety standards, etc.).

None of those are going to shine a positive light on Brexit.

You do realise that those who stated the earth was round before it was actually proven to be so, were also ridiculed, demonised and harassed for their beliefs

Trust that helps with your supposedly cheap shots
