Seems like a very good signing?

Some RB Leipzig fans not that bothered to see him go and surprised by the transfer fee, seem to think he didn’t fit into the team that well.

But lots of games under belt in a very good side, hopefully he fits in well here

To appeal to American audiences.

Their decent players have a premium because of the marketing value.

I’m a little worried, 5 players in with no PL experience. I was hoping we’d get £60m for Raph, doesn’t look like that will happen. Not sure what Barca have offered, but I think I’d rather keep him for 2 more years.

Happy about this. Whether he's good enough, we'll see. But, Marsch obviously felt he needed Adams. Orta got him. He's now got plenty of time to bed in. And he'll be on the trip to Australia.

When top players from overseas come to the Premier none have premier league experience!..

Good to pay 100m for a top player the top clubs pay but are they really all good enough?..

Top clubs fans have been known to label their so called world class over paid butt lickers as flops!..

And some off the cheaper nobody's have been known to do well!..

Another underwhelming signing. We need proven PL players and i fear letting orta loose with our millions using his football manager 2022 game is gonna hurt us big time

Looks like a baby Andros Townsend. Likeable lad, as are all the rest we've signed, echo what LDL says though which is what JFH said on skysports earlier about our signings. "Need players with premier league experience"

Friend of mine follows transfers closely ala Fabrizio and co. He was telling me that Barca offered 60 but most of it in instalments, about 20 up front. Leeds not having it. Chelsea offered 60 in full and was accepted. Someone at the club needs telling that Richarlison went for 60 .....

Someone had best explain the meaning off PL experience, because there are plenty outside the PL that are good enough, but you won't find them without giving them a chance!..

It seems to some anything under 80/100m ain't good enough, even though that price range isn't a guarantee they are!..

Heard Bayern are holding out for full payment for Lewandowski. De Jong seems to be on/off…this will drag on all summer, and most of us want it resolved now.

None have played in the PL, so we can’t really quantify what we have bought. I still see people giving Firpo the benefit of bedding in time, how long are these new lads going to take to adjust to the PL?

posted on 6/7/22

Raphinha hadn't played in the PL, look at him now!..

Like I said which I think you're agreeing to is nobody can say who can and cant until they've had the chance, like I say, some cheaper nobody's have done well in the PL!..

I think pre season should help them but it also boils down to Marsch, his tactics and style of play will play a very big part on how things go!..

“Needs PL experience “ is overrated for me.

Many without, not just big money signings have come and succeeded, plenty with experience have failed at other clubs.

Never mind me, whinge on! 🤪

It would be interesting to see just which premiership players people think we should have signed. Don't get me wrong there are are a few but I think the general consensus was we needed maybe 5-7 additions to bolster the squad which was undoubtedly too small last season and in need of a rebuild . I wonder to what extent we could have made those 5-7 squad additions with mainly premiership experience and within the amounts paid. I think it comes down to budgets.you pay a premiership premium and with what we wanted and probably needed to do we have taken the overseas route.

Maybe I am getting hopes up too much but I feel right now we have a chance if a much improved season. Thee you go calling it early.

Yes, there is that too.
Massive investment in Red Bull players that played for or lived next door to JM at some point in time. I agree Mont, 5 unproven players and an unproven coach who hopefully hasn’t used up all his luck.
Germany - Raphinha had no PL experience granted, but name me another that isn’t bang average.
Glad we are getting bodies in the door, just wish it was more balanced…but what do any of us gobsh!tes on here know.

Saw this tweet…

“I remember when Pontus left and we signed White on loan. I remember belittling him, asking why we’d signed a child from the lower leagues.

I will never again judge a player’s capabilities until I’ve seen them on the pitch at Elland Road.

I suggest a few others do the same“

That is a fair point

I agree. Players with PL experience command a premium and as Rob says we can only afford those who've proven to be average in the PL.

The trick is to recognise those with the attributes to succeed in the division... because it is a faster pace and more physical than any other league in the world. Some very good players can't adapt, some you've never heard of come in and look at home straight away.

Too much Marsch knocking before the season has begun. His Salzburg team played in a weak league yes but were very competitive in Europe, and for all the anti-football he was accused of here, at the end of last season, his salzburg team were top scorers in a CL group that included liverpool.

How about we all take the view that orta and marsch (to a lesser extent) now understand what attributes are required for the league and will be signing players on that basis. The fact that JM is picking a few of the best young players he's managed elsewhere is a positive. They know his ways, their attitude/personalities are a known factor and they should hit the ground running.

Now personally, i thought camara was a better fit for the prem than adams and that roca might be lacking physically. But these guys know the players and i've just watched a few video highlights. I'm guessing they're in better shape to choose.

Doesn't mean it will work. We're losing our best two players and having to integrate half a new team. This season was always going to be a step into the unknown, but it's exciting to find out isn't it? Seems only a few of us think so!

You don’t need players with PL experience, you need good players

It seems we may have signed a few

These look like Jesse Marsch signings to me so I'm not sure why people are having a go at Orta. JM obviously thinks these players will help the squad so we have to give him benefit of the doubt.

VVD, Son, etc all came from abroad and had no PL experience before coming here. Doesn't necessarily mean these players will fail. Let's give them a chance before slating them.

Loads of YouTube videos now of Americans seemingly supporting us now. We seem to be getting noticed.

I am not concerned with the quality of the players, the viking looks a handful and if we can also get Sinistere over the line and reinforce a couple of other positions (keeper and left back) in the remaining nearly 2 months of this window, I think we will have more than enough.
I am concerned about how disruptive a massive influx of players may be in terms of the squad. This was always going to be the case but it will take some managing.

"Glad we are getting bodies in the door, just wish it was more balanced…but what do any of us gobsh!tes on here know."

steross, you ask who else comes into this league and are bang average than write that!..

That is the fall out here, I've said top players that come in on top money to the top clubs some have been labeled as flops by their fans!..

The crap around here is the way players coming in ain't even given a chance to show what they can do, there is nothing to say,(which I'm not saying!)that any off these players can't go on to be world beaters!..

Most top players that come to the Premiership were top players before they got a chance in the PL, but those players had to start somewhere and these players have to get the chance they're being given before they're crapped on by a load off gobsh!tes on here that think they could do a better job!..

We're getting these players on long deals, so any that make it and want to go to Barca we know what will have to be paid!..

At the prices we're paying one or two making it would pay for all we're bringing in!..
