We are no longer in for either player. CDK would have been a great addition but will end up in Milan. Camara wanted to come but JM's eyes were firmly set on Adams.

....can but dream though

We aren't signing Camara. There's no point even speculating on it.

I think we might end up with that striker from PSG - Arnaud Kalimuendo

After listening to JM after last night's friendly, it would suggest we are only one player, a striker, missing from our recruitment drive this transfer window.

Various reports are saying KDG will go to Milan and so we will then choose as a contingency measure after losing out to JM's or VO's first choice a striker from a list of many linked with Leeds.

Could be any one of: Arnaud Kalimuendo, Dries Mertens,
Valentín Castellanos, Ben Brereton Díaz, Patson Daka,
Che Adams and even Adama Traore who technically is a winger but maybe as an out and out striker he could be a useful addition.

I meant KDK

Cant blame the guy choosing AC Milan over us. I think 99% of the people would choose them over us.

Harehills or Lake Como. It's a difficult decision

AC Milan trumps Leeds in nearly every department.

Pretty sure nobody has ever said that, Jesse said the opposite of that I believe. We have six or seven more weeks of this window to further improve.
People will be disappointed that we have not replaced Firpo but I have seen reports where he was MOTM last night.

Some reports today that Corberan might be on his way back to Leeds!

i also heard he got skinned a few times but i never thought he was as bad last year as some on here would have you believe.
i just meant im happy with the players we have signed
and that jessie only seems to want to bring in a striker.
we definitely cant rely on bamford to make it through the year uninjured.

we were playing blackpool, would like to think everyone looked good against them but if firpo gets skinned by a blackpool player just think what a PL winger will do to him

Its the first proper friendly in pre-season, and some people are snobbishly criticising a guy who scored and assisted got done defensively a few times. Ridiculous.

I don't think anybody really has been critical of Junior, I am suggesting that people want him replaced based on last season when it was largely stop start, because of injuries for the most part.
I think he showed on quite a few occasions last season that there was a player there but it's interesting that lots notice that the prem is a big step, expressing concern that the players we have brought in this time around might struggle with translating their form elsewhere into form in the toughest league there is, no such generosity of spirit showed to Firpo.
His first season, last season, he should have been given more leeway perhaps. I think we will such a much better Firpo this year.
Of course a lot of people don't really understand how much the modern wing back has evolved, their role is much more attacking and much less a defensive one than in years gone by. Last night Koch and Struijk were there and solid and Firpo was up and down the wing creating opportunities just what his gaffer wants him to do.
Much better than last season, albeit against a poor opposition, and much better than Drameh on the other wing (and I truly think Cody is a future international).

Remember pre Messiah, so many within the squad were being rubbished. Then MB wove his magic and
we all know what happened next.

Maybe Firpo has found a system and manager in Marsch that suits him best? Maybe Firpo excels now?
And that coming from someone who's bashed the lad
(too much).

It may have been Blackpool. But, The performance looked nothing like the hybrid JM employed to keep
us up (successfully).

I'm genuinely looking forward to this season. It won't
be classic MB. It also won't be the hybrid system.
It will be JM's and just maybe a few players shock us
into rethinking their worth to LUFC.

Agree on Koch & Struijk Els. I haven't said this on here yet but, I think Koch is going to have a great season.
He also suffered injury-wise last time round. There's a player there for sure. Maybe him and Struijk take the
CB spots?

for me koch & struijk.....along with cresswell are our are cb's

I said when Koch came to us he's a good player!..

As for Firpo, it should be said he might not have done to good up till now, but it could be argued a lot off his mistakes could be put down to the way the team played last season, don't think many players were filled with confidence and it showed in our displays on the field!..

A change off system and the new players should bring a complete different game to the table, hopefully a lot better then last season and less mistakes throughout the whole team!..

Germany, do you think that the fact Marsch is able to speak English means he can also talk to the guys on an emotional level, something Bielsa wasn't able to do. Once things started going downhill maybe that's what they required as much, if not more than, more sessions of murderball.

posted on 8/7/22

Els, I think Marsh with his English will be a great help, I think with Bielsa his staff talked more to the players, so when they had a problem for him to look at it had to go to his staff first!..

That being the case there are problems on and off the pitch that players might want to talk to their boss about, there maybe some problems some were holding back!..

And Murderball, I think it can still be used but maybe not to the extent that it was being!..
