It's worth bearing in mind that despite the domination of oil rich clubs, the fact that the PL shares the tv money out so evenly is the one thing keeping the league semi-competitive. If the big six manage to negotiate their own tv rights smaller clubs won't be able to afford to operate and it will become even more of a closed shop.

I don't think that's the aim of Spurs Play though. Looks like a shrewd way to bring in more income.

Fair point.

Maybe the PL should make a streaming platform itself outright so we don't need sky and their £80 a month nonsense.

This will still ensure the distribution rights are evenly split so no monopolies like Real & Barca.

I'd definitely do it if it included some live first team games. I suspect most of the content will be aggregated elsewhere anyway

"£35 for members and £45 per annum non club members...
we can finally say goodbye to the rip offs at Sky."

£35 quid for four pre-season friendlies compared to about £80 for 20 odd Premier League games? And Sky is the rip off?

Sky is 80 quid a year now?

Sky are a set of chancers, I was paying £85, I rang them up and told them I was unhappy, and that it was a disgrace Carragher was still being employed by them and threatened to cancel altogether (was out of contract), they offered a discount to £50 if I signed up to another 18 month contract.

Ah. OK then I pay £20 for the year.

Get better contacts

Although I also have free BT Sports through my broadband deal with Virgin, so it's good to get those games with the better quality and mhz. IPTV generally only goes up to 50 mhz and when it's lower on some of the channels you can notice it.

Still it's worth it to see every game, which is why it has such a big network.

I've had IPTV since 2013.

Depending on ur provider/server it can be hit and miss and channels go randomly and then u have to search for them and add to favourites.

Currently using it on firestick only for the footy.

So the comparison between IPTV and sky is not valid sorry.

Stop getting crap providers then.

I've had it for years also, sold it myself for a while before it became too much of a hassle. The comparison is absolutely valid. You get the same channels at a much reduced cost and the trade off is slightly poorer frame rates, which most people won't notice.

Always test a service before you buy it, as there are some providers who aren't actually providers bit 'piggyback' on the actual providers. There are also some providers who don't have a VPN set up to run in the background, meaning if you don't have one yourself, you'll face issues.

I hear what your saying but I prefer to pay cash to the guy who provides the service instead of paying someone online.

I got scared after hearing any card/online payments can be traced back should the authorities crack down on the IPTV provider and then you could be liable for "piracy"

I don't want that headache lol

posted on 9/7/22

So I just have to hope the guy selling me the service has a good server and IPTV platform.

It is what it is.
