The rules are crazy. One of my kids had it last year. She had to isolate but her sister and brother who go to the same school were ok to go in?!
I got it ast year when I wasn't vaccinated and it was horrible. Felt like crap, fatigued, lost appetite, headaches but worst of all was when I tried to have a beer at the end of the week, on about day four. I couldn't taste it so poured it out.
Bit irresponsible of any employer to not force you to stay away until your clear

My work place wants you to stay away but they removed the 80% pay, so people are saying nothing and going in with it.

Ours just changed it to normal sickness absence, so you still get full pay

Yeah I still get full pay but hourly paid workers were getting 80%. They took it away so people are crawling in and spreading it everywhere. It's a difficult decision to be honest as people were taking advantage of it and getting paid.
I guess they’ve decided everyone should be vaccinated so time to get on with it.

Complete agree
I was shocked at my induction when they told us if you feel well enough just come in even if positive
Thankfully department managers have a different take
Likewise I avoided getting for over 2.5 years, then 2 weeks ago, the entire family came down with it
I finally tested negative this morning, but I'm nowhere near 100% (whatever the hell 100% is )
My taste buds are shot to fack, still got the cough and general weakness in all limbs, but on the positive side, I've lost about half a stone in weight
I just caught it as well, got a 4 month old son so I’m worried about him and I’m isolated in my own room. It’s difficult that I can’t go near him for about 10 days.
But with work it’s go in as normal, I’m wearing a mask and isolating in my own office but no one cares that I’ve got it, it’s going round my workplace like wild fire.
I caught it for the second time a few weeks back too, I just had a blocked nose though and a minor cough. At the height of the pandemic I still had the same symptom but I lost my taste and smell for a while.
Wishing you a full recovery man. My younger brother and niece had it just a couple of weeks ago and it knocked them both out for a week. Thankfully they are better now.
The government are now on a hiding to nothing with it as well as they cannot exactly urge, or instruct, people to stay at home after their shenanigans
We've only just been allowed to stop wearing masks. If we test positive we have to stay away for 5 days. But no one tests now they don't give us free ones so...
Out of interest, how much do lateral flow tests cost? I got some just before they stopped being free and have used them sparingly so I still have about four left. If they're only like £20 for seven tests I would consider buying some.
I should have just googled it! They're pretty cheap.

Doesn’t really make sense to test for covid if you feel
Unwell imo. Other illnesses still exist. The whole point of vaccine was to stop the economy from coming to a halt again, so really you should be allowed to go into work unless you’re just feeling like pure crap (just as you would with proper flu).

My local pharmacy sell them for £2.50 a test.
i copped it a few weeks ago for the first time aswell
not pleasant.
ppl who say its's just a cold .
wales are still giving free lat flow tests until the end of this month
stocked up with a few boxes for the next time i catch it
Just caught it for the 3rd time ffs
Snotty, sore throat and fever. But on each occasion only lasted 3-4 days then full recovery. Dosed up on paracetamol and plenty fluids - not beer though!! 😂😂
So after two and half years of avoiding it myself and my girlfriend have finally got the dreaded thing this week
—-
Sorry to hear it man. Hope you’re okay.
So what…eh… what is she wearing? Like PJs or a nightie or…?
OP
I am amazed that Covid is going so much under the radar now. Cases are rising, and I have gone back to wearing a mask everywhere I go.
Problem is the Government are fecked, insomuch nobody will take any notice if they tell people they have to lock down again. Johnson has a lot to answer for.
First off get well soon.
Any employer encouraging employees who are testing positive for Covid to come into a work environment where they will have contact will others are obviously complete cants.
Take a sick day ffs.
I’ve managed to dodge it so far, hopefully it stays that way.
My wife is in hospital with a lung infection, she has now caught Corvid whist there.

I was guilty of that til I got it
It’s most definitely worse than a cold …I’ve had plenty of those
Everyone is different though ….to the person it bounces off there is always the other end of the spectrum who could end up being hospitalised at worse ….then there is long covid too ….
I do agree we need to find ways to live with it however we aren’t ready just to go back to complete normal and treating it as any normal common cold
No idea what the answer is but all I know is had I continued to go into work I could have potentially took out an entire department
