The problem

For the last time, the only thing people have been arguing on this thread is that it's not healthy in a relationship for a man to control a woman (or vice versa). I dont really see what thats got to do with politics but you've extrapolated and gone on this bizarre, nonsensical rant about the far left.

It’s easier to attack a so called movement than address legitimate arguments.

As i've said a thousand times though... "Wokism" as you call it is not a group like, for example, the Labour party... It's not even a movement, like BLM, where you can reach out to leaders and organisers.

It's an undefined mindset that simply means you are aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues. A thought process doesn't have a CEO, or manager, or local branch etc etc. The only "house" you can get in order regarding being woke is your own.

You surely know this... Or you are so naive that you believe the right wing rhetoric that "wokism" is a defined group, an enemy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's see if you can understand this:

The mainstream right has to disassociate with extreme elements on the far right, otherwise they would be considered one and the same.

The left on the other hand, instead of doing similar they defend the extreme left and leave sections of society thinking you're all crazy. The left really doesn't help itself.

Whataboutery—why am I not surprised?

You guys don't want to get your house in order but expect people to visit.

After nearly 1000 comments we come to the same conclusion; Jordan Peterson was right, you don't want to clean your room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are so fixated on 'wokism' that you're not actually reading what is being said.

There are only three people on this thread who have been talking about things like gender-neutrality, radical feminism and female sports players being paid equally. Guess which three.

That topic itself had nothing to do with the article. Anyway, I said I advocate men taking the lead, not being controlling.

The others got aggressive and started attacking us, so I hit back. They're under the illusion they're not controlled by anything, so I showed they are—that's why they have identical opinions.

Identical opinions? That people shouldn't be controlled by their partners? Weird huh? Or not.

Let's face it, you lot have almost identical social/political opinions. It's groupthink, but you're not controlled, eh Elvis?

You are truly the dumbest poster i have ever encountered on here... That's a serious accomplishment.

"The mainstream right has to disassociate with extreme elements on the far right"

That has not happened.

"The left on the other hand, instead of doing similar they defend the extreme left"

That has not happened.

I don't think you actually know what extreme left and right means. You use buzzwords you've heard on twitter and don't think to learn the actual politics behind them.

The extreme left is basically authoritarian communism... Nothing, and i really do mean nothing, in common with any kind of "woke" thinking.

We've broke 1000 posts... So I will stop given you any more oxygen.

These people don’t know what the far left or far right actually are.

I think it’s important to differentiate between the UK and the US. The US is notably more extreme on both sides than what we typically have over here. Or at least less commonplace than what they have over in the US.

There’s plenty of shootin’ toot in’ redneck types in the US, much like there are plenty of people who genuinely advocate for extreme socialist policies and quite happily wear apparel of the hammer & sickle.

Words and their meaning change over time.

alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
"we need to stay angry, and stay woke“

I think that what is being put to you is that those who fit into that above definition are almost exclusively leftists, a lot of the time quite extreme too and some of them very extreme ideologues who are quite simply so strange to most people that the term woke became somewhat of a pejorative.

https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2009/jun/08/labour-conservatives-condemn-bnp-europe

Can you think of examples where Labour MPs have openly come out against extremist measures taken by some on the left? Extinction rebellion types I mean. They probably have done but I can’t remember much

That's a good thing actually for the left to be associated with. On the other hand, the right is associated with the exact opposite. Not just not alert to injustice in society, but often flat out denial of the racism/injustice even when there is irrefutable proof; Unless it affects their own agenda in which case they almost always get angry and start cancelling opinions, filtering comments and the worst behaviour of all, playing the victim.
