Better Call Saul

Tbh it doesn’t take anything away from it for me the age thing, we know they’re older and it was shot after but set before. I can remove myself from that watch it in its own right with no issues.

Aye, you’d think a show with a huge budget would at least try and put an age filter on these characters. Gus’s face was literally melting in BCS compared to how he looked in BB. Mike was even worse.

On another note, what do you think happened in the telephone box when he was trying to talk to Kim?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t know but surely the reason Saul is so desperate to scam the cancer guy is to get back to Kim. I don’t believe he’s doing it just because he’s a bad guy or because Walt ruined his life or anything like that, it surely has to be something to do with Kim.

Kim turned down a massive career opportunity just to follow throw on their plan to fack Howard over to the point she seemed ridiculously unreasonable, like Saul has been with the cancer guy.

I don’t care btw that Jesse looks 100 years older. Just don’t see the point in bringing him or Walt back. Their cameo so far has added nothing to the show (but have a feeling they may appear in at least one of the final 2 episodes).

I don’t think it is, he’s just showing his true colours in being a true cuuuunt. He blames Walt for ruining his Saul gig, even though it was his fault that he got involved with him and Jesse in the first place. I think he’s just lashing out and he’s gonna end up in prison or dead.

posted on 3/8/22

I don’t think we will see Kim again in the remaining episodes.

That scene was to show that he made the choice to get involved with them and that was what eventually led to his downfall. But I agree it was just nostalgia reasons bringing them back.

Think it was just basically the equivalent of a relapse after the chat going so badly with Kim, so he went back to scamming cos he loves it.

Reddit nerds have figured out what was said on Jimmy's end of the conversation too, god bless them. Also seen a lot of people theorizing about parallels being Walt/Saul and Frankenstein/his monster, basically saying Saul is to blame for everything that happens in BB cos he couldn't help himself but push Walt further in

And they’re not wrong. If you think about it, the BB universe really does centre on Saul. Without him we wouldn’t have seen Mike or Gus, he was the link to them and Walt.

Yeah BB is now basically about Walt burning everything from BCS to the ground.

I thought to begin with he got back in the game to make money, quite possibly to travel to see Kim. As it went on I had doubts cause of how much he was into scamming the cancer guy.

It'll be disappointing if there is no purpose behind this other than simply wanting to slip back into the old Saul.

Mike and Gus weren’t the big bads in BB though. The whole reason the organisation went tiiiits up was because of Walt’s paranoia and Jesse’s refusal to fall in line. Easy to say none of what happened in BB would have went wrong if not for Saul but it wasn’t Saul who told Jesse to kill those 2 kid killers working for Gus or for Walt to come up with a plan to have Gus killed.

Yea agree will be really disappointed if it just ends up with Saul falling off the wagon and ending up behind bars. Not that he doesn’t deserve it or anything, but it would just be too easy a way to end the show.

Saul & Kim are destined to meet in the final episode. Not sure she will take him back for that none existent hairline, tash and glasses but he's still Jimmy inside.

Well she might meet him in prison perhaps? Maybe she becomes his lawyer after he gets arrested. They do seem like they are hinting at him getting caught with the mother's suspicions being raised.

She quit being a lawyer though so that would also be too easy a cop out. Maybe she is in prison herself? Idk, it’s probably not a coincidence that Saul is living in Nebraska which is Kim’s home state

I thought they said she was working somewhere in the last episode, so unlikely to be in prison. I'm hopeful we get to see her one last time.

Had he met Gus by the time he was taken hostage by Tuco, cause that was why the brothers were going to go after him originally.

No he hadn’t met Gus.

My recollection is Tuco was killed, Hector blames Walt, the Salamanca twins go after Walt, during this time, with Tuco out of the picture, Gus hooks Walt and Jesse up with Gus. Gus no shows the first meet, Walt goes back to Pollos and turns him down. Walt goes home, Mike sees the Salamanca twins planning to kill Walt and contacts Gus who stops the kill. It’s been a long time since I watched BB but that’s how I remember it happening. Gus promises the Salamanca’s they can have Walt when he’s done with him (but never actually planned to be done with Walt, he ends up giving them Hank instead).
