Apparently a wonder strike. When I saw it, thought, why are the goalkeepers so bad?
I've never understood why people insist on comparing women's football with the men's game, and then dismissing women's football because it isn't as good.
It's like saying we shouldn't bother with women's athletics because they can't run as fast, jump as high or throw as far as the men.
Judge it on its own merits, not in comparison to what men do.

I would say there are a few reasons Ivan.
It is bigged up massively, as if it's way better than it is.
There's money being thrown at it left right and centre. I have no issue with that, but in the meantime in the men's game in Scotland, they are fighting for scraps.
Take the USA's women's team. Fought for and got same payment as the men's team, despite being nowhere near as good.
I would be really p!ssed of in work if someone was getting paid the same as me purely for being female. Btw, if she was better than me, I would have no issue with her being paid more.

I don’t think track and field and football are comparable.
Track and field is largely a challenge- see who can run the fastest, throw the furthest etc.
The interest and excitement comes from knowing you are watching the best their is and seeing who comes out on top.
Football is a game. And the game starts to change considerably if the touch isn’t there, the pace slows down, the goalies are terrible etc. these types of things affect what u watch as a spectacle.
For a lot of people it is the skill, the power, the pace etc that makes the mens game so engaging.
Womens football is a very different game. The US womens olympic team famously got pumped about 5-1 by an u15 team in a bounce game a few years back.
Yes the same Olympic womens team who is looking for equality of pay with the mens team which has CL players in it.
Whilst you might still see the best team come out on top in the womens game it’s not just a case of watching women run round a track or men run round a track - it’s a pretty different game to the mens professional game.
I hope the womens game grows and flourishes. But I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go watch it myself.

For internationals, are the payments made by associations to their mens team linked to the income they generate? Or is it an arbitrary amount?
If it's arbitrary, then I see no real problem with paying both the same to represent their country.
