For me I would like to see us get Roofe off the books and replace him. the rumours are we are looking at Cutrone but I aint sure thats the answer?
I like Roofe but in a position like CF its not one you can really be injury prone in. since we only play 1 up our numbers up top are thinner therfore more important that your strikers are always fit and available, no point in having someone as emergency back up to morelos if that player cant be relied upon to be fit.
I think both Kent and Morelos will sign new deals, from what I hear Morelos' deal is all but agreed and ready to be signed.
Kent , Morelos and Matondo looks like it will be our strongest three when fit and up and running. And I would be very happy with that
Not watched any of the pre season games but heard our strongest team for the first half/60 mins of games looks brilliant and we've looked a bit shaky after that as you'd expect when you make wholesale changes.
We've usually played a few competitive games by this time of the season zo there are still question marks ahead of Sunday but I think it's a good test to start the season.
Not as buzzing as I usually am to be honest, feel like football's been non stop for a few years was enjoying not having to worry about it
You could maybe have called your thread something snappier-like insies and ootsies maybe?!

If Haaland stays fit and he clicks with Peps gameplan then you could become something unreal
Haters going to hate man. Just ignore them.
Strongest team for me is;
McLaughlin
Tavs Goldson Davies Borna
Lundstram Kamara
Lawrence
Matondo Morelos Kent
Subs;
McGregor
Souttar
King
Sands
Yilmaz
Jack
Tillman
Davis
Wright
Sakala
Roofe
I have put Davies in ahead of Souttar because he is naturally left sided. I know Souttar has been getting a bit of a pounding on social media which I am not really buying into. I think he will be decent enough for us. I just dont think we are paying £4m for a left sided CB then playing a right sided CB who clearly still has a bit of adjusting to do.
Havent seen Davies yet but Id gamble he is a better option right now than Souttar.
I have Borna in ahead of Yilmaz because he has been solid in preseason and Yilmaz is pretty yong and just in the door from turkey so has some settling to do. I expect Borna to either be outstanding this season or shrink to the size of the mouse whose heart he normally uses when the going gets tough.
Yilmaz is obviously the heir to the LB slot so if Borna does see the season out I expect it to be his last.
Id happily get rid of Roofe because of his injuries. Excellent 20 goal a season player when fit, just never fit etc etc
Other than that excited to see if Lawrence and Matondo can live up to the early promise and if Tillman can be the Joe Aribo replacement he was brought in as.
Also special mention to Tav, Lundstram and Kamara who looked absolutely top notch in preseason. The competitve stuff hasnt started yet but they look like they have a bit of determination to start well this year as opposed to last season when the whole team started like they were still too busy patting themselves on the back for winning 55.

I cant see us paying 4m for a back up CB Davies will be 1st choice ... makes sense too he is the type of CB who reads the situation and defends similar to Helander though not as dominant in the air but more mobile. On paper that makes for a good partnership with Goldson as I think we looked our best at the back when we had Helander and Goldson.
By All accounts TIllman has really caught the eye in training and is better than originally expected... i wouldnt be surprised to see him come in for Lawrence after a few games.
Borna again will start at LB but once Yilmaz is up to speed you would think he will replace him
