No reason why the English Super Cup should be discounted, especially if you’re including the League Cup & UEFA Super Cup.
I’m assuming you did that to make it more favourable to Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
UEFA super cup needs you to win one of the big European trophies which is something Arsenal cannot do. Its one for the elites.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. You don’t even have to win a trophy to be in the Charity shield match.
If you want a funnier net spend table….
Do net spend per PL title (for the title winners only)
One team REALLY stands out

Feel free. May as well exclude PL seasons as a criteria.
After all, total major trophies won is the ultimate barometer.

Far too much effort was put into this for the sake of a WUM
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Effort? You mean a quick Google to see total PL spend and a round up of honours?
5 mins tops
Secondly, it wasn’t done as a wum but rather a point of interest. I’m presuming it has you rattled - but that wasn’t my attention.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing about net spend will wind me up, its well documented on here what my thoughts are on it

im just curious as to whether these net spend trophies take into account the revenue it produced for winning said trophy??

4) reluctantly included cup winners cup

But not so reluctant to include the inferior UEFA Cup, or the knockabout European Charity Shields
----------------------------------------------------------------------
UEFA Cup > Cup Winners’ Cup. Trust me, my club has actually won both
Fairs Cup, now that’s a worthless trophy

So why did the Cup Winners Cup winners play in the Super Cup and not the UEFA Cup winners?

doesn't take much to rattle the spusz
I'm counting these for Utd
PL 13
CL 2
FA Cup 5
League Cup 4
UEFA Cup 1
Club World Cup 1
Intercontinental Cup 1
I make it 27 in that case.
Only the triple crown events should be counted tbh.
3) excludes this summers signings for obvious reasons
You mean it's excluded because City's net spend is £127m in the black?
Well it should be done by total prize money.
2) excludes Charity Shields for obvious reasons
So obvious no one can figure out why?
What does net spend mean?
Net spend is a ridiculous comparison anyway as clubs don't just budget and player purchases and sales.
Neither Chelsea and Man City should not be on the list. Both finanvially doped, and neither would have won a bean without their sugar daddies.

They are on the list so all is good.
How about one for net wages spent?

No because the question of value for money can’t be asserted before they’ve kicked a ball.

Because it is literally a fundraiser.
2nd place in the league can compete for it. Just an entertaining curtain raiser, nothing more.

It allows us to differentiate the clubs who have to disassemble their squad in order to build it up again from those who just splurge til their hearts are content… a la City
