The idea of a “British Cup” seems to come up every now and then but apart from Celtic and Rangers, I doubt there’d be any interest in the other games from English fans unless the prize pot is HUGE of course…
I also don’t see Plymouth fans making the (probably) mid-week trek to Inverness to watch a game, I doubt Inverness fans would bother with it either. Logistically it sounds like a bit of a ball-ache.
Also, how many teams participate? ALL league teams? It’d be around 130 teams, playing a series of mid-week games (if it replaced the League Cup), the schedule is pretty packed as it is.

Other than affording the opportunity to watch Rangers and Celtic getting spanked by Championship sides, which would indeed be amusing, I don’t really see what the point of this would be.

Could be good for Scottish football, bringing more money in for their clubs. England vs Scotland rivalry adds more to the ties where its a Scottish club vs an English club.

It'll bring more money in for Celtic and Rangers, because no one will bother watching the rest of the dross. So all it’ll do is widen the gap in Scottish domestic football.

You can't disrupt the qualifying for fa cup. Every pinpot side the the land can enter and try to get to first round proper. That is the fa cup.
Sacking off the league cup and making a single uk Pro league cup (Welsh, NI, Scottish and English league) might have merit but it'd have to be seeded to have fewer games than that level of clubs would dictate.

No, it would have the same or less importance as the league cup. It would only serve to hand a few quid to Scottish teams and the English taxpayer does enough of that!
