I think the term Free in this regard is in respect of the a transfer fee. Players get a signing on fee from transfers aswell its not exclusive to out of contract or prec contract deals. These signing on fee's can increase for "free transfers" if there is multiple clubs in for them but dont vary half as much as some people seem to think.

I realise it is a quiet day. It was a free transfer where 'free' is a description of the type of transaction rather than necessarily being literally zero cost. I was merely being a pedant pointing that out to Fash who implied no fee had been paid. I even explicitly said why and nobody has taken issue with that. In fact dunnit agreed he may have received around what Rangers were offering Hearts to take him in Jan - I have no idea. Agents are also likely to have negotiated fees too.
Pedantry, that's all.

It's obvious due to our lack of any creative midfielder we are far to reliant on Kent and Morelos. We can do without one but not both.
A creative central mid should have been our priority (last 3 windows too) but again nothing. I had hoped that was Tillman but he again seems to be more a direct attacker

The Gers seem to have a squad knee deep in DMs, and maybe lacking a creative presence who can pick a pass. Meanwhile the 'Tic only have AMs in the central area, with not a single DM worthy of the name (bar James McCarthy ... from 4 or 5 years ago). Odd situation that.
