The flag was up but the replay showed it was onside. It would have counted.

Whilst the team is bedding in under ETH these little moments can make a big difference in terms of results. They were good chances and you'd expect one of them to go in really at least.

Bruno also missed a very presentable chance in the first minute in the 0-5 v Liverpool as well. Goals really do change matches.

Looking back at yesterday it was a strange performance. I don't think we were terrible but I also didn't think it was a good performance either. It was just pretty, for want of a better word, meh!

We would be a lot better with a functioning midfield though. I hope ETH has seen what a technical player can do in midfield (Eriksen was better in there) and target someone for there. As a leftfield option how about someone like Rabiot?

said it on the other thread. Mctomina getting pelters but he is doing his job just as badly as the likes of :
Dalot, Maguire, Fernandes, Rashford are. Dalot gives it away to easily and in very dangerous positions, maguire enough said, fernandes isnt creating enough and missing easy chances Rashford doesnt look like scoring with the majority of his chances.

Yes exactly and he’s bottling the big moments way too much.

It wasn’t all terrible yesterday especially 2nd half but after scoring it was very disappointing that we didn’t get on onslaught on their goal.

I’m not against the Rabiot signing at all as long as he’s not the only midfield signing. I’m not gonna say I’ve seen loads of him but he’s clearly a good player and is only 27. The concern with him I suppose is his attitude. He literally has to be a better player than McTominay.

he is better than McTominay ... A very very good passer of the ball (Carrick levels) and 6'2

Rabiot Is an asshat from all accounts, stay clear, got to be other options surely.

I agree with this and also agree that it would likely have changed the game yesterday, but I think in the long run it would have just papered over the cracks. In a strange way, what happened yesterday could be a good thing as it will hopefully focus minds all across the club about how big a mess we really are in. Yes yes I know how many times does it need to happen, but I really think there was hope that ETH could change/improve a lot of them but yesterday showed that these players can’t be trusted, even with a new manager. We still have time to address it in the transfer market (both ins and outs). We actually started well yesterday, first 10 mins we looked positive and confident, but as soon as a bit of pressure was put on we crumbled and immediately went back to last season. I think it’s better to realise this now than in 6 weeks time.
If Bruno scores that chance then who knows, we might might have got a comfortable win, but as I say it would just have papered over the cracks.

That is my most hated insult purely because it makes me cringe so hard.

Must have been the yanks that came up with it.

Personally, I wouldn’t put his passing range or consistency in close to the same league as Carrick’s. I wouldn’t say they were his strongest attributes.

And has Baz has pointed out, he has a very questionable reputation, which is the very last thing United need to be adding to the dressing room.

We should put in his contract that his Mum has to stay the fck in Italy and have her phone confiscated too.

When Rashford had that chance yesterday and you looked at the fans sat on the Stretford end none of them even got up. They all sat expecting him to miss which he obliged.

You guys have another Deli Alli here.

I wouldn’t even put him in the top three passers in the Juve midfield, tbh.

His best attributes are in ball recovery: pressing, tackling, interceptions, strength. He’s quite good at hanging on to the ball and carrying it.

A lot of the time when he’s winning the ball back he’s just giving it to the likes of Locatelli or Cuadadro. Locatelli’s passing is a level above Rabiot’s for me.

Starting to look that way. He hasn’t scored in a games he’s started in for 15 months. Woeful.

They scored with their only 2 and we missed ours. (I’m aware they were denied a stonewall penalty too)

….

So we’re we.

disagree, IMO he is the best passer of the ball at Juve.

He is a replica of Carrick

Tbf I don’t think under the new rules that handball by Brighton deserved a penalty as it was deflected back onto his arm which was an accident

Maybe. We will see them given though. No idea how VAR didn’t give their one. I guess they determined the player made a meal of it.

Duh.

That's why United need a proper centre forward/striker.

Can't expect a mixed bag of, pretty competent - to exceptional, midfielders like DvdB, fernandes, ronaldo, sancho, martial, fred, eriksen to score enough goals (reliably) to make a competitive season.

Especially when that midfield is too often hampered by the inclusion of a waste of space like mctominay.
