The window is still open.
Best keep a look out for scouts and spies.
We should charge them for tickets and decline their cards whenever they try and pay for anything.

It could always happen that another team will come in for one of our players. We do seem to have a very strong squad.

However, two points. 1. If Evatt really wants promotion he would, in my opinion, be better sticking with what we have. We have a squad which gives us options and we are going to need that as the season progresses.

2. If any offer is just too good to refuse, we need to have a better option that we can sign to replace the outgoing player. Whether or not that could be a permanent singing or a loan signing it doesn't really matter because we would always have the money to buy for next season whether or not we get promoted.

Personally, I think keeping what we have probably gives us more certainty of having a good season and achieving what we want.

Villa home. A great tie and a good test for Bolton. Looking forward to it.

That should give our B team gate a boost.

Makes it extra busy for the remainder of August.
I'll have to order in extra supplies.

ins and outs predicted before the window shuts, I knew IE wasn't ignoring me.

But who would we want to leave the UniBol? Who would be the main targets and would Evatt sell the likes of Dapo or Rico?

I feel that we have just got a settled squad of decent players for this league that could attain promotion and why would we want to disrupt it at this point in the season?

If we lost a decent player or two we would need to buy or loan good players to replace them.

We have to remember that we are in division one so some players wouldn't want to come if they are dropping down a league and then there is the question of wages. Can we attract the right player who can guarantee to be better than what we have and pay his wage demands when we are supposed to be a sustainable club?

I would like your thoughts on the above questions. I'm all for improving the squad but we all know that not all incoming players settle into the team or perform as required.

After much complaining, the cub finally updated the teams on the website.
If you have a look, you'll see the B team is ripe for some of our own young ones to go out on loan.
Izzy might as well go if we can sort it, his contract is up next summer.

There's always a chance somebody with money will come in. Remember the old saying "We are a trading club"
If the plan is working IE & co will already have a replacement for anybody on a list somewhere.

Don't forget we have a couple of spaces available before we play on the roundabouts.

Wouldn't really want anyone to go as we have good cover now. I think you have to look who is out of contract next summer. Quite a lot. Aimson, Isgrove, Thomason even Sheehan won't play much plus out of contract maybe loaned out.

B team fixtures https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2022/august/b-team-starts-at-fleetwood/ is there much point to these being played on training pitches in the afternoon in front of no fans? I did think when I first saw this a cheeky trip to Fleetwood.

It took a lot of nagging to get that sorted on the website. In the end I resorted to having a word in Sharon's lug hole. There are still a few changes on there to come.

Wasn't it Sam who insisted reserves and youth play in the stadium, due to the injuries from pitches when played outside of the stadium.

Ian Greaves would never have stood for it either.
We had a regular crowd for reserves and youth team games back in the good olde days. When football was cheap as chips.

It's the Tuesday against Villa, it's on the telly.

This week has flown by.
The To Do List hasn't gone down one bit. I might as well give it up for the day now.
It makes sense, it should ensure I'll be up early tomorrow for the bakery and treats delivery. I need those to get me through the match.

We have a decent record recently when we appear on the telly. Hopefully, this will be another one against a Premiership team.

I suspect that Villa will be making changes to their normal line up but they seem to have a large squad of players so I don't think that it will be an easy game. Can we beat them? Yes, we can if every one of our players is up for it and on good form.

Had I not booked the rest of that week off work I'd have been tempted with the Sky coverage of the Villa game - as it stands a venture down the Unibol would go down nicely.
