Imagine the wages he’d be on and the moaning in two years time when he’s got a year left to run (or two knowing our club) and we can’t offload him.

Morata's never really been able to flourish as a starter. Almost all his better spells have been when used as an impact sub. Sure, he can have decent runs, but he just can't handle on a consistent enough basis the pressure and scrutiny a starting striker is comes under at a big club.

That’s what we are looking for.

Sounds like a good fit then.

I'm almost convinced Morata is just a smokescreen for laundering money between the big European clubs.

The fees he has commanded are mental. He is due another round of clubs.

We'd just send him to juventus, just like everyone else has

The back and forth between Chelsea and Atleti was weird, but also unsurprising considering both clubs have been involved in other surprising deals.

Nothing much odd about his moves between Real Madrid and Juve though.

1 or 2 of these could be stop gaps unless they want long contracts

How would you respond IF something like that was a real possibility? Would United fans swallow their pride and accept what may well be perceived almost as an act of charity on City’s part?

Given our current status, we aren't going to attract players from superior teams that they want to keep. Of course there are players surplus to requirements at the elite clubs that would improve us.

Replace the name Morata with Lukaku and I’m with you. Ioag describes Morata perfectly.

Manchester United, Inter and Chelsea spent £240m between them on Lukaku. That has to be money laundering. It’s not possible for someone so shiiiit at football to command that money otherwise.
