The only good thing about him going to Liverpool would be listening to British commentators trying to deal with pronouncing Núñez and Nunes in the same sentence (and inevitably failing at both).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I apologise in advance if I'm wrong but should they be:
Noon-ee-eth and Noo-nez?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Núñez ....Noonyeth
vowel sounds are pure in spanish..so pure u and e
pronounce every syllable fully and separately
ñ = ny
z = slight lisp, not the exaggerated forced lisp anglos tend to do when they try and make this sound
words are never forced out in spanish. it's a v evenly accented languaged...words trip off the tongue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In reality, it’s actually a small minority of Spanish speakers - mainland Spain excluding almost all of Andalucía and Extremadura - who pronounce the ‘z’ as a ‘th’. The vast majority of the Spanish-speaking world makes no difference between ‘z’ and ‘s’.
I haven’t actually researched it, but I’d venture a guess that the ‘th’ pronunciation is a relatively recent development (i.e. post-1492) as it would help to explain why (almost?) all ‘New World’ Spanish-speakers across such a huge geographical region use the ‘s’. It would seem strange that an ‘s’ variant would have been adopted simultaneously so far and wide, and also included parts but not all of Spain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes certainly could be that the lisp developed only in the last few centuries in central and northern spain
or could be that most of the spanish coloniers in the new world came from extremadura, andalucia and the canary islands were they don't lisp even today
It could be, but I doubt that was the case, because there was also plenty of migration from Castillo and the Atlantic regions in the north. The Canaries has barely been colonised a few years earlier, though in their case there was a lot of early migration also from Portugal and Italy, so their dialect might have had those influences too.
Actually, after checking a couple of linguistics websites, it seems your Andalusian theory was on the right track, since the different ‘th’ and ‘c’ pronunciations are thought to have already existed back then.
I know places like Cuba and Puerto Rico at some point had alot of immigration from the Canary Islands and Andalucia
on another point
the headline on the AS website is currently:

El Barça oficializa la venta de un 24,5% de Barça Studios a GDA Luma mientras la agencia FITCH rebaja la calificación de la entidad."
Another lever !!!

Has he not categorically said he doesn’t want to join United?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no, he has not said that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In Dutch news they report he has rejected United because you do not play in the CL. So he might be interested in a move to Chelsea, but in the end, up until now, he does not want to leave Barca. He really doesn't. So it does seem a bit of a farce for United to keep chasing this transfer.
As with almost everything in this saga, that's just media talk though.. Might be true, might not.
Have Farza registered the new players with La Liga yet ?
If not, I'd imagine they won't be able to play at the weekend ?

They've sold another package to Roures, the Barça soçi who owns Mediapro, who, in turn are (or at least were) of supplying the footage for LaLiga's VAR replays.
Seems as though yesterday they registered most of their new signings just in time for tonight's game
