Personally I’d say it wouldn’t necessarily be the best at any sport, which is hugely subjective anyway, but those athletes who became global icons. The ones everybody knows even if they don’t know or like the sport they compete in.
From that perspective there are two standouts imo:

Beyond that I’d say you probably have Pele (although I’m not sure that global recognition still holds today?), Bolt and Woods.

Never visited Rushmore but did visit Stone Mountain last month. Bigger carving than Rushmore but not as 3D nor as impressive but Georgia is very proud of it. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=stone+mountain&lr=&safe=active&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwielrfr0cH5AhUEUcAKHaPcCZQQ_AUoAXoECAIQAw&biw=1636&bih=908&dpr=1

Stone Mountain was a massive gathering point for the KKK.
I have seen the carving though, and flying past it is fascinating. Such a weird natural structure.

I'd consider anybody who visits that grotesquery to have questionable values.
Now the Crazy Horse Memorial. There's a monument.

Very true, sir. However, we stayed at the 'captive hotel' at the resort because it was that or a roadside motel nearer where junior was playing in Atlanta. Trust me the hotel was a shat hole, the resort worse but the cable car up was mega rapid and the rock quite interesting all things said.

There's hardly any fights anymore. Fvckers used to go at it with sticks. Then there were the bench-clearing brawls. Goalies would even meet up at centre-ice and fight each other. The league had to put a stop to it.
