Why is it that when Spurs play Man City, Man City's awful record against Spurs just gets a throwaway line on Sky Sports before they spend the rest of the build up talking about how great City are and how they'll beat us anyway,
-------------------------------------------
That's probably based on the fact that over the last 10 years, City have won 16 games to Spurs 10
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now now Boris don’t be reasonable

The media obsession with some spurs fans is embarrassing

There is no facking conspiracy

There is one or two ( actually loads of 'em ) on the Arsenal boards too.

The amount of "we are nailed on top 4" or "We will challenge the top two" is breath taking.

just seen this on another thread. Word for word what SteveB has posted in the OP. He must have forgot to switch accounts

Pretty sure the names SteveF and SimonB themselves are a parody of all the sock accounts you see pumping up review scores on Google, TripAdvisor and the likes.

I think the starting point for most Spurs fans is that we'll lose. Lost 4 times last season, a very poor record at SB and a history of throwing it away even when well placed. Quite happy to be the underdog here and hopeful we'll put in a 100% professional display and achieve a draw at worst

Embarrassing

Yes that would be Liverpool, scrambling a draw against a promoted side.

Ahh Sandy and his sock accounts, insecurity at its best

Aint got any sock accounts mate. Stop spreading porkies.

Boris conveniently forgetting that prior to the previous 10 years Spurs beat City 23 times to just five losses in all competitions in the Prem era. Amusing how he selects just the past 10 seasons.

Spurs are not the underdog. Just watching sky sports now saying how improved Spurs are. Other articles saying Spurs have closed the gap, to Chelsea which I think over the course of 38 games will be proven correct.

When Kulu crosses that white line today he won't give a gnats chuff what our record at SB is.

Luckily he won't be able to here that odious smug t0sser Tyler who will mention it every 2 mins.

I don’t think he’s necessarily forgetting it, but it’s not at all relevant. This isn’t a conversation about our head to head record throughout history. It’s about an ‘alleged’ media bias. So when the media talk about Spurs vs City, they’re likely to focus on the recent record, ie since City got all the money. Before then isn't really relevant to that conversation.

The media also never mention that between 1915 and 1952, that`s 37 years, Spurs only lost one league game at Stamford Bridge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That can't be right, can it ? I was utterly convinced football was invented in 1992. No wait, actually it was invented in 2009, given Spurs have never won anything.
Or maybe it was 2000 when Chelsea started to buy a history ? or around 2010 when City did the same.

Who knows ? I guess whatever the narrative it, then that's when it all started.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, not really. It just shows I am not the only one who thinks the media are narrative driven.
It usually follows the money, as they ( Sky in
particular ) just love a club with money, as they see it as an opportunity for them to make money. Why do you think they suddenly all love Newcastle. Wind back a year or so, and they were the sh*t on some reporters shoe.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That might be because it's olds, i.e. the opposite of news.

It might also because 37 years makes it sound like it was a huge amount of games when in reality it was just 11, and that the Chelsea win more or less in the middle means that the longest-ever streak is about 6 or 7 games tops. I honestly can't see why the media ought to revisit such a dull stat.
