Scrappy first half and yes another miskick for Podence, but a goal, is a goal, is a goal. I guess with Sasa off the field, we'll revert back to the "don't put any crosses into the box", from Bruno.

Good effort from Jonny goes just wide

Hwang and Adama on for Neto and Podence

Clean sheet
and no strikers injured.......oh wait....

Scrappy game overall, but the first win is always good, plus a clean sheet. Defence looked a bit shaky for the first time this season and a below par performance from Collins. Pleased for Air-Nouri, who is better suited against this type of opposition. Neto continues to frustrate me, as he is such a good player, but tends to overdo it at times. Nunes my MoM, breaks up play and plays some delightful passes.

Not sure we'll go with a back four against Liverpool. Wouldn't surprise me if we reverted back to 3-5-2.

Peacock stopped just as Traore and Hwang came on, so didn't see the last few minutes.

But the move up the table and to a possible 6th spot has started.

Poor first half. Sasa struggled a bit but early days. Neto still not back to his best, seems to try one trick to many. Podence had a decent game. Think Nunes is starting to realise what the PL is all about. RAN had a decent game. Jonny had a good second half.
We deserved the win but lived dangerously at times.
3 points though.

Thought we were ok first half tbh, I think Neto wants the ball on his left foot so keeps cutting back when in dangerous positions, frustrating for sure especially when you remember his goal against Southampton a couple of seasons ago. He worked his socks off though can not fault his effort.

It was a good tight game, very similar to the Newcastle one. Kalajdzic got in to some good areas in the first half but could have done with someone up alongside him I thought as Southampton had two on him every time the ball came near him. Fingers crossed that his injury isn't too serious, his movement and pressing were good and underlined what we've been missing of late. Great move if not a great finish for the goal but will take that. Nunes outstanding, really put a shift in, broke stuff up, got us up the field and played some lovely passes.

Great support from the fans today too, really got behind the team and the manager which was great to hear. Even Hwang, in fact especially Hwang got great support from the South bank. A very important 3 points, will hopefully instil plenty of confidence.

First live game for me this season, agree crowd were supportive and patient throughout, I thought we were poor first half slightly better second

Saw a majority of the game, albeit distractedly. Decent in parts and great to finally get a win at the 13th tey but still plenty to be concerned about also, just don't see much of a style to the play as yet.

Hopefully Kalajdzic coming off was a precaution as much as anything and assume Jimenez was a minor issue as well.

Comment count on this one is right down I see, those that have nothing positive to say by definition are keeping quiet 😜

Something that is a bit of a concern is the reason for Jimenez's absence from the bench, initially the reports were a groin problem in the warm up but after the game Lage said it was fatigue. He also said that it was due to him missing pre season and was normal. I know he missed part of pre season because of the knee injury but he'd done a lot of work up to that point as I recall. And to decide so late yesterday that he was too knackered even for the bench seems odd.

My first trip to Molineux this season yesterday. Been in Anglessey on holiday all week and managed to fit a trip to the game with my journey home to Somerset.

Thought we were OK to be honest. It was nice to see a forward actually try to occupy the centre backs in the first half. Hopefully Sasa's injury isn't too serious. I thought at times we attacked with real pace and that was when we looked most dangerous. Nunes looks a real player.

Got a bit of luck with Che Adams deciding to lead with his arm when heading one in from the goal line, but really we could and should have scored more given the positions we got into.

My one real concern was how late we left it to bring Adama on. I think we made the right subs, but could have made them a bit earlier. The game was set up for Adama at the 70 minute mark, but we seemed to delay it until 80 minutes for some reason.

1 goal from Leicester in the first minute takes them out of the drop zone.

You noticed that too Goldi. By the way, with Leicester scoring, we are joint top for goals conceded (4).

technically joint bottom Wolfie but know what you mean

A win on Saturday against an inconsistent Liverpool team, would surely see us start climbing the table to top four and extend our unbeaten run to five games. 👍

No doubt in my mind that we’ve turned the corner now. Scoreline yesterday flattered Soton.

and as it happens joint bottom for goals scored too.

with fewest goals scored and fewest conceded you forgiven for thinking that our games are not good entertainment. I wouldn't say that myself.

Liverpool can definitely be got at next week i think. We have the players to exploit them.

Exactly this. Their minds will be on the Champions League games either side of our match. These are the games we need to be targeting for points if we’ve got aspirations of top four.

Diego Costa on trial next week as replacement

Perhaps we should recall Theo Corbeanu. He scored the winner for Blackpool today which is the third he's scored in 4 games.

If I was Costa I'd look at the recent history of Wolves' strikers and steer clear.

Good idea. Cos only incompetent fools would allow him to go out on loan without a recall clause right?

Oh wait! ……….
