Conte play to our strengths

Conte is about to fall apart. He cannot handle Europe and midweek games.

Look at his career, he excels at 1 game a week hence Chelsea and the lucky run for Spurs last season.

Once Europe, travel and midweek EPL games come into it he crumbles.

Wish you would fall apart.

When is the user name change occurring following on from your utter failure at the weekend?

Did you check the quality of the defence and wingbacks he had at his disposal when he won those trophies? A lot better than what he has at Spurs. Our defence and wingbacks are weaker than our attacking front 3.

Why sit back with 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders inviting all teams to camp in our half?
-------------------
Because this is what he does. Did it for a fair bit of his time at Juve, did it at Chelsea, did it at Inter. He was probably able to be a bit more attacking with the Italian teams. But you appoint Conte, chances are you're opting for some variation of a defensive back 3.

He's been successful with it to be fair to him. But people ask why a lot of us didn't want him at United. There's your answer.

I'm beginning to think that tactically Conte is very limited, let's see if he can prove me wrong

The cracks are already there at Spurs. Brighton will win on Saturday too.

OP

I like Conte, but completely agree with your article. It seems criminal that Spurs very talented attack is getting blunted at the expense of a very average defence.

I know he gets paid lots of money, but if most of the supporters can see where he is going wrong, why can't he?

How did the Manchester derby go for you ? Weren’t you convinced Utd would win ?

Can call for a change of formation but the squad has been built so far for the Conte system and not much versatility to use other systems.

Play a 4 at the back for example then we don't have the defence for it and would have no attackers on the bench and about 6 defenders

Surely you answer your own question....if our defence is weakness you don't expose it with an attacking formation...just ask Man Utd at the weekend

Am I understanding you correctly - you think it’s a good tactic with a weak defence to invite teams to camp inside our half of the pitch and create chance after chance for most of the game, hoping our average defence will hold out and we’ll get a lucky counter attack goal? It’s not like Kane is a quick pacy player on the counter…

There's zero point wishing for this. Besides our first couple of games in 16/17, where he used 4141 if I remember right, the only time I remember him using something different for us was 424 in the last 20 minutes vs. Huddersfield when we needed to win to keep top 4 alive.

He simply believes either 343 or 352 are superior systems to establish numerical overloads in both halves of the pitch, it's like Guardiola & 433, so he won't change because of personnel - he'll need a better reason.
