I think and I've read a bit about one of the main reasons people feel unhappy nowadays is Social Media people seeing other people showing off their recent purchases, holiday photos etc.
People start to feel they can't keep up with the Joneses.
And don't get me started on "influencers".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good thing I don't do social media then, apart from this place and WhatsApp business, which is basically a business app, not social media. This explains why I'm always happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That and a nice schmoke every now and then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of which, a lot of the conventional stuff has been mentioned already so...
Mean green. Especially when it's raining. Sit out in the porch, or under the big garden umbrella, as close to the rain as possible without it raining on you. Or even in your car in some street. Rain makes people scarce, which can be a good thing.
Banging makes me happy too. Doggystyle behind a nice hourglass or coca cola bottle shape, and a rear with enough surface area for me to run my hands around.
Fack, now I need a wanck. Which is another thing that makes me happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have to say I don’t smoke it that often anymore but when I do, I do fking love it. Food amazing, film amazing, weather is amazing (wind or rain are my favourites). And just giggling like a little girl.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, but what about banging?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Goes without saying. Even the worst bang ever is still good which says it all really.
Going back to the OP. I’ve always said that some of the basic bodily functions can be the best.
A nice meal or even a burger & chips when really hungry (or pssed) is unreal.
Taking a psss when you’re bursting or a sheeet when really needing
A great sleep when knackered, getting into bed in winter when it’s cold out
As Mamba mentioned - banging
Showers & baths - both epic

I think to really answer the question we have to separate 'happiness' from *enjoyment*. There's obviously crossover; happiness will be most commonly found in the activities we enjoy, but I think there's something within enjoyable moments that is distinct from enjoyment and crosses over into the realm of happiness, or that turns an enjoyable moment into an outright happy one.
For example, I can list travel, music (playing, writing, listening), playing football, spending quality time with my partner, friends & family etc... as activities/hobbies that I really enjoy and love doing. But what brings the actual 'happiness' part to the table, I think, is a combination of two things; a sense of connection to X (whatever X may be) and the absence or limitations on the normal, continuous internal chatter of our minds whilst we're doing that enjoyable thing.
So if I'm playing the guitar or travelling and meeting people/spending quality time in the company of friends or playing football or just enjoying a laugh on the sofa with the missus, there's a deeper sense of connection to another person; partner, friend, team mate, travel buddy or the feedback from the activity (like playing music) or a sense of collective purpose (like in team sports).
And in those moments you're very present. You aren't really thinking much beyond the moment and that really is quite blissful - the mind isn't wandering around all over the place on a football pitch or in the middle of some funny story being recalled among friends.
And additionally, it should come as no surprise that meditation has shown again and again to have a very good impact on mental well-being and reported levels of happiness etc, given that it is essential mindfulness/presence training. Conversely, studies on super rich people or lottery winners show their reported levels of satisfaction and happiness to be either worse (super rich) than the average person or about the same (lottery winners) as everyone else... Just don't tell UWW that.
