Hugo Fragile Lloris could go wrong.

I think you can throw in Lloris, Romero and Sessignon into the mix.

Yes, Lloris was hugely to blame. But the defence is still not very good.
The defence was appalling but I dont blame them as much as I blame Conte. Who on earth would encourage Lloris, Dier, Sanchez and Royal to play short around our box when none of them can pass and even worse NONE of them have any brains.

grandspurs, that really does annoy me the way they constantly do that, then end up gifting the ball back to the opposition. It seems to be the modern thing, but only works if players are comfortable on the ball, which none of the Spurs defence and Lloris are.

Like you I have supported Spurs a good many years and I find it difficult to recall (other than when we got relegated that year) a Spurs team that looks so negative, boring tedious and awful. Sorry for me its the manager and the players we buy. Davies was bought as a back up 5 years later he is one of our better defenders and he is still awful.
Go thru the lists, Aurier, Royal, PEH, Sess to name a few all really really bad buys but we carry on buying bad players and playing them in a crap formation that they just cannot do.
I am furious with Conte and so down at watching crap every single week even when we win we look crap.
Grandspurs, you have been fuming for the last 30 years at least lol
Do you know what, after all these pro and anti-Conte opinions, Harry Redknapp hit the nail on the head a long time ago when he said it's about players at the end of the day.
I think everyone knows where I stand on Conte. I'm never going to be his biggest fan but the bottom line is that recruitment at our club is probably only matched by Everton for just how woeful it's been over the last 5 years or so. Good players make great managers. Don't get me wrong, good coaches can wring the very best out of each individual but there's not much any manager can do if he's been given an absolute set of duds.
The issue I have is that whilst it's great to have a Sporting Director and Manager singing from the same hymn sheet, it's undoubtedly a shiiiiiit hymn. A really boring one with little in the way of melody and charm.
We have a cautious manager and a cautious sporting director. If Conte is a 6 or 7 out of 10 then, for me, Paratici is a 3. He's been absolutely catastrophic for our club. He's only got two signings right and that's only because he was able to call in a favour at his old club. Every single other signing (maybe with the exception of Romero) have been effin' awful.
If Conte goes I'd genuinely like to see the whole project ripped up and restarted. It's a good idea to have a Sporting Director but you've got to make sure you get the right one. All the time Paratici is on board, even if we lose Conte, he's just going to replace him with another cautious coach.

Yeah, paratici has been pretty awful tbf, let’s not forget the nonsense negligence he displayed after Mourinho was sacked, no manager for 4 months and then end up with nuno! He hasn’t been able to sell the right players and also: Bryan Gil. Need i say more

Exactly. Gil wasn't even a punt in financial terms. It was a major outlay. Lamela plus £30m? WTF? That puts his value at around 45-50m. That is a complete joke.
I honestly think so far he's been the worst director we've had. Sometimes these people are genuinely good at their jobs. Other times they happen to be in place when the club has success, regardless of whether they've really had much of a hand in that success so it can give a false impression of their abilities.
If Levy had done his homework, he'd know that Paratici doesn't match up to the 'free-flowing, attacking football' he pledged in his manifesto prior to totally fecking things up by appointing Nuno. The managers he's gone after, the players he's recruited. They're all of the same profile. No real creativity, just grafters. Kulu is the only one I'd say is a mixture of both. He is a real diamond.
Brighton got it right. They decided what they wanted to be and got the right people in to fit that style. We didn't. Levy didn't understand that jumping from Pochettino to Jose represents a major segway in style and therefore the players then become square pegs in round holes. Spurs run the club in a similar way to the way the FA run the England set up. English manager type, salt of the earth - doesn't work, move to foreign tactical manager lacking man-management skills - doesn't work, back to English manager type, salt of the earth - doesn't work etc etc. So much flip-flopping.
The buck really does stop with Daniel. there's no getting away from it.

Very few players with character. Not being funny but sometimes you have to ignore the manager and take things into your own hands and affect the game.
After all when a player takes a yellow for the team, this isn't by the decree of the manager the player does whats best for the team.
The same should be for trying to score a goal or affect play

If we were playing a back 4 then Royal would be a very good right back, his final ball isn’t good enough as a RWB.
Dier has had a couple of bad games, but up to recently had been very good this season. But let`s not forget he has played every game this season and fatigue, both physical and mental, could be an issue with him.
