Levy didn’t spend £100m in the summer, the chances of us spending £100m in a January window are about as likely as Mafs mum getting the all clear from the sexual diseases clinic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn’t he?

I have it around £150m in the summer. Yes Romero is included in that which I don’t get why it isn’t by others

Richarlison £52m (plus add on’s)
Bissouma £26m (plus add on’s)
Spence £13m (plus add on’s)

£91m, minus the £34m we got for CCV and Berg is a net of £57m.

Fair enough if you throw in the Romero (£45m) purchase it crawls over the line at £102m. The point remains that given our summer spending barely tops £100m it’s deluded to think we’re gonna lay out that sort of dough in a January window.

Personally I don’t have an issue with this - we always seem to get it wrong with our higher end signings. Sanchez was £40m wasn’t he? Ndombele obviously, still early with Richarlison but I think we’ve massively overpaid. With the right scouting you don’t need to go balls deep with a war chest like fans always demand, we’ve proven that in the past as have other clubs. Kulu and Bentancur cost about the same combined as Richarlison on his own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Udogie was another £15m
Lenglet was another £5m

Fack knows how much signing on bonus we gave the free transfers etc etc

Although yea it’s delusional to think we will spend big in January

Ndicka and Skrinier please.

Both their contracts are running down and should be available for attainable fees.

I think overall our transfers under the Paratici and (latterly)Conte regime have been good.

Kulu, Bents, Romero and Bissouma are all clearly very good signings. Forster, Lenglet and Perisic were very sensible, free signings. Spence and Udogie were solid investments in up and coming players - said when we were chasing him how much I rate Spence, not seen much of Udogie but hearing good things, and the club has to be making these kind of signings.

There will always be some misses. Gil hasn’t looked terrible but given what we paid and how we had to loan him out, he’s been a miss. Royal clearly a miss, massively overpaid. I get the Richarlison signing, I know what we are trying to do - depth and rotation without a dip in quality across a front 4 is where City and Liverpool have been at, I can understand the logic of trying to get there by going big on a player that wouldn’t automatically oust any of the existing front 3. I’m just not convinced Richi was the right choice, much as I appreciate his endeavor I question his quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paratici has been changing our starting XI gradually. He's done decent considering his boss is Levy. Another 2 windows and we should see 4 new first teamers.

Most of the 2022 first team should be back up by 2023. This would be progress for me.

Exactly. This is why most of the players I've listed have contracts that expire in 2023. So Paratici should take advantage of this in January. Singo would be a no brainer and low risk RWB.

Yes but another 2 windows Son is 31 and Kane is 30. These things have to be factored in. The drop in quality without these two is huge, we have to be succession planning at some point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True but Attack isn't our main worry for now...its the scary defence and Conte's tactics of giving defenders the most touches. Even if we signed Lewandowski and Mbappe..the ball still needs to get to them.

For years our defence has been a major issue. They are neither warriors nor elegant ball players. So they don't excel at anything but our defensive and counter tactics need all 3 defenders to be excellent at one or both disciplines.

Also if Kane and Son leave. We would only need to replace both with one player. That could be Osimhen.

A front line of Richarlison Osimhen Kulu...is dangerous enough provided we sort out the rest of our team.

Being serious though I am not expecting much. It's January and we already spent a lot in the summer. I'm sure Levy might try to offload players and get some in on loan. No way are we going to land a player like Maddison or spend that sort of money.

All I know that in January, Spurs have to bring in at least one decent CB, if not two, which will not be easy. But the current lot are letting the team down bigtime.

Still need to get rid of NDombele, Winks and GLC - I’d keep Reggie and ditch Sess.

I think having these guys still on the books is also a massive factor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can we afford to get rid of more HG players at this stage? Need to get rid of those first 3 though at some point. Sess I would keep as he has shown some signs and can still develop. Reggie should get another try but honestly he looked poor last season. Would much rather see us get rid of Sanchez and replace him so we don't have to face as many calamities.

Defence and creativity is where our priorities need to lie in signings.

Should goalless out for De Vrij. He will be easier to get than Skriniar
