Arsenal’s ‘easy’ fixtures

The thing that isn’t taken into account here is bogey games.

Spurs for instance, on paper, having to play City twice still looks bad, but we have beaten them at home 4 seasons running without them scoring and beat them away last year aswell - out of the big boys they are our fave side to play against.

Whereas home games against Wolves, Newcastle and Leicester is often a sticky wicket for us, but we have those out of the way now.

United, Chelsea and Liverpool, we rarely get a result against and Arsenal away we nearly always lose.

So from a Spurs perspective, knowing what we have out of the way already, there is a lot to be optimistic about with the remaining fixtures. The only game we have no chance in is the Liverpool away match and Chelsea at home is one we love to lose also. The rest though are very winnable for us.

We have played Palace away, Brentford away, Southampton away, United away, Liverpool at home and a few other "bogey games". Won most, got a point at the St Mary's.

Sure, I don’t know who Arsenals bogey fixtures are except Palace away.

You struggle away to us though and nearly always lose to City I seem to remember.

I know you always beat West Ham and tend to do okay at Anfield though right?

All games are easy when you’re top.

Man United
Home Games - 6
Home Games vs ‘big 6’ - 2
Away Games - 8
Away Games vs ‘big 6’ - 2
Games played vs top 10 - 9
Average Opposition position in table - 8.4

--------------------------------------------------------------------

We've played the entire big 6.

3 at Home - Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs

2 Away - City, Chelsea.

Ten Hag has done a very good job so far.

Wow so the OP is using fake stats. This is an outrage.

I can’t trust any of the figures for the other teams now, the whole article is compromised.

Add him to the surfer if the year list.

Only if we make some half decent defensive signings in January. That shambles isn’t gonna get us anywhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes definitely, our League 1 level defence is killing us. But it’s nice not having to go to Arsenal, Chelsea, United in this second part of the season and to have got our 2 biggest banana skin home games out of the way.

My big concern though is our record against City, this is potentially not the year to be beating them

If getting beat 4, 5 or 6 by Liverpool is doing okay, I guess so.

You’ve had a great start to the season

The team top at Christmas has gone on to win it 10 times out of the last 13 seasons

Big bottle job if you don’t win it.

Don’t think we can hold that stat against them this year given the big break in the season - it’s not quite the same

They’re 5 points clear with a nice 5 week rest

City have more players at the World Cup than Arsenal

They brought in Jesus and Zinchenko who both know how to win titles and Arteta must have learned from Pep how to get the league won.

As I said big bottle job if they don’t win it.

Top at Christmas after 14 games isn't the norm, can't judge on that.

You’ve got to be confident tho surely D J

No team has had this points total after 14 games and not won it in prem history though.

However, never been a WC mid season either.

If it was Liverpool on top at Christmas, then I would be confident of us catching them.
Arsenal are an unknown quantity at this level. So it would be interesting to see if they can hold off the challenge and win the PL for their long suffering fans.

I just wish Claude was alive to witness this season.

The World Cup break has made it really intriguing, no one has a clue what effect it will have on the league. Newcastle could drop a ton of money in Jan and end up winning it. There are loads of games left when the market opens, so sides might be more inclined to spend more this Jan

I personally enjoyed Sandy saying spurs beating Brighton away was tougher than Arsenal beating Liverpool at home

Then later on losing to Liverpool at home

Well Arsenal's opponents have the lowest average position in the table compared to everyone else by the looks of it there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we can't play ourselves. We're top.

If spurs were better our average would be lower. It's not our fault is it
