Budget?

I don't think anyone thinks we should be winning the league but we want the board to back Conte and buy players to strengthen the weak areas in the squad.

No harm in having a squad which is capable of challenging on fronts is there?

I think most have to admit Spurs have upped their game in many departments. Our signings in the last 18 months have all been pretty successful. Those critical of Spurs cheap signings always conveniently ignore that many of our best players are cheap deals. Bentancur Kulusevski and Romero for about the same as Liverpool spent on Nunez.

Many also ignore that we cannot do it in one window. Since Conte has arrived we've added Deki Bentancur Richarlison Perisic Bissouma Lenglet. These are big improvements in 2 windows and while we need more they have to be available and affordable. People talk about needing a top CB RWB and AM and question why we haven't, but that's probably another 150m or more, and we have players to shift too.

I don't buy this "no money to spend" line fed to the media. Let's see what happens. Expectations need to be controlled as the Jan window is in particular hard to get big signings unless you spend silly or find bargains and we don't have limitless money...but we do have money.

Lets just see what we spend and on who. No doubt Conte and Levy working on the same strategy, and if they are not we will soon know about it.

We're a work in progress and are nowhere near the end of our journey. Klopp had Liverpool ending 8th in his first season. We're already well ahead of that curve, and Arteta's progress. For some reason Spurs fans think we should be winning the league right now

No one is expecting success right now. Not at all. What we are expecting, though, after a year in charge, is a cohesive style of play with real patterns emerging so that we can see Conte's plan. We can't. At the moment, we play passively and let the opponent take charge of the game. They score a goal or two and then we rely on our leaders in Kane and Son to get us out of trouble. What we're seeing are narrow escapes based on individual quality.

Somehow, we're 4th. God knows how but Liverpool will come, United will come, Chelsea will come and before you know it we'll be sitting in 6th playing terrible football.

The reason I loved it under Poch was because you could actually see his team emerging within a couple of months. His pressing, controlling style was like night and day. It wasn't too dissimilar to the changes we saw at Liverpool under Klopp at the start. Can you really see what Conte is trying to do? I get that it's a process and you need the players to be able to implement your style but when consider how crucial wingbacks are to his style, why did we blow 60m on Richy, 30m on Bissouma and another 25 on Gil, three players that don't even start, and not look to upgrade Royal? Even on the left we look woeful. Perisic in flashes has been good but hasn't pulled up any trees and then there's Sess, who surely takes the prize of the most underwhelming prospect in British football, just pipping Berahino for the trophy. Money has been wasted and this was all under Conte's watch, alongside his most trusted aide.

I'm not seeing the progress on the pitch and we're very hit and miss off it.

I wouldn't be at all upset if Conte moved on in this summer and frankly, I'd be happy to see Paratici following just behind.

Unless we actually manage to sell N’Dombele,Lo Celso, Reguilon etc…. I can’t see us spending too much in this January transfer window…

Plus we have a large number of useless squad players that need to move on, to free up squad space…

I expect a defender or 2( if we’re lucky)maybe a forward to replace Gil/Moura… that will be it… & they will be bargains/ end of contract players etc…& why not!!

That is because you've been brain washed by Levy saying players costs and wages are unjustified and he refuses to pay them. That's Joe Lewis for you, an ice-cream salesman to the bitter end!
Of course ENIC treats Spurs as its own personal piggy bank.
Do the owners of ManCity run it at a loss?

Does it every window mate and still fans lap his bulls** up. ENIC and Levy are the biggest con jobs going because somehow they still have fans on their side. Although it’s getting less and less each season we achieve nothing due to their clear lack of ambition pushing the club forward. It’s ok, we got a NFL payment to look forward to 🤦‍♂️ absolute joke

The Club really need to manage their PR better. We constantly let external forces and red tops belittle and destabilise everything we try and do. The fans also feed on it.

Just like last January, let's wait to see who we actually get before having a meltdown. We are 2 to 3 first team players short of a top team, far closer to having a top team than previous 2 to 3 years.

I'm hoping for at least one experienced centre back to replace Dier and forward that can properly compete with Son. Richarlison shouldnt be played wide left or right in a 343, for me he's a centre forward. With Kulu wide right, I would be fine with Gil being his deputy. But if Gil leaves then we definitely need to replace him with a left footer.

Yes, We need a RWB but maybe just maybe Conte now feels Spence and Doherty can perform and be attacking threats.

In summary we have talent but its whether Conte has seen enough of them in the last few weeks to trust them.

Conte's lack of trust in Spence and Gil means an unnecessarily large shopping list in January. For me they aren't the issue. Dier and Sanchez are. Both need to be regular benchwarmers for us to have a successful team

Even when Spurs managed to fluke putting a very good team together, and were on the verge of being capable of achieving something, ENIC and Levy stood still in favour of the balance sheet, instead of pushing the team on to success.

Harry Redknapp is on record as saying he thought his team was 2 top quality players away from having a real chance, and he was given Nelson and Saha. Poch`s team also, the nettle was not grasped in favour of standing still.

That tells us all what we need to know about ENIC`s level of ambition for the football operation at Spurs.

I'm hoping Paratici and his overhaul of our backroom staff plus our latest recruitment of Bissoum Romero Kulu Bentancur Richarlsion shows we've changed

Need to keep signing players who are worth between £20m-£40m, over 5ft 9 and between 21-26.

The problem with the way ENIC operate, is that we never actually get to the point where we have a complete squad that is ready to compete for 2/3 years, there is always an area of the squad that needs upgrading / replacing, by the time we have sorted out the defence, the forwards will probably need replacing / improving, rinse and repeat. Even on the rare occasions when the team came together nicely, ENIC still failed to go the whole hog and we were left with holes in the squad.

Exactly and this is what people don’t understand. We had such an opportunity to push on with Pochettino after the CL final, yet they let the club stagnate and it took years to get anywhere near the same level again. Even now, we are no closer to winning major honours. Just 1 big failure on the pitch when you consider the promises, money spent on infrastructure and everything supposedly put in place. All i keep seeing us signing deals for various different things, but in the same breath hearing we don’t have money to back Conte. This club infuriates me under this regime. Every single season the same old s^* regurgitated

True. But you're deluded if you think a club like spurs can do that. You're not Chelsea, when a big signing flops, you have to eat it
