I think there's some spin in this story... more likely they've got arsey as he's not played enough, Warnes told them he won't be starting so it's been mutually agreed to say they've recalled him. That way, no one loses face.
Personally, I think he's underperformed ... lack of effort.

It had been suggested on Radio Derby a few weeks ago that Osula likely to go back along with Roberts so that it gives PW the opportunity to get in players to fit his style of football. One down, one to go.
Whatever the reason, thanks for your efforts and wish you well with your career.
Every season I dream for the mid season transfer dealings a la George Burley styley and we get a Rasiak and Tommy Smith style player . Asking for an Idiakez would be too much! If we could get someone of the caliber of first two mentioned players ( at a League One level ) I think we'd all be delighted.

I’m sure with the right recruitment staff there are some gems to be discovered. We need to keep reminding ourselves how far we have come since The summer, when we could have been liquidated. That said, as fans it’s human nature to want instant success.
I think Osula will be better as he gets more experience (obviously). He was OK against the lesser teams, but against experienced defenders ineffective. So I'd say if Sheff U have recalled him to play for them in the Championship he'll struggle. He'd be better in L2.
That said, for us he was useful off the bench....nothing more.
I feel we need a replacement though. Easier said than done.
Cheers. Terry. UTR
I also note that Everton are in free fall atm. Again Lewis Dobbin could be recalled. As much as I like him, he's not PL standard. He's getting regular game time with us, and whilst he's not scoring he's a player of promise. He should stay for the season which would suit the long term of both Derby and Everton.

I'm with you on that. They have spent quite a bit of money and the draw at Man City at the weekend shows they do have some fight, but then they get destroyed at home by Brighton. It seems as though the Everton job is a poisoned chalice.
Nah, he's just a sh*t manager and motivator.
They need Sean Dyche ASAP.
I've noticed a large volume of loan call backs this season, be interesting to see if this year was the highest number of recalls.
I don't think Lampard is a great fit for Everton but their current plight isn't his fault, it's been years of ludicrous overspending in the hope they might be a top six or even top four regular. They've done a bit of an Uncle Mel, basically. They now have to somehow balance the books before it all comes crashing down. They had to swap Richarlison for Maupay.
I liked Osula. He's got the physical attributes to be a great number nine and at Accrington away he showed what he could be capable of in time. It's always difficult with raw loanees and Warne loves the nous of players like Collins. Personally I think Osula should have featured a lot more. I also think Dobbin could be a very good player but he is a long way away from being a player who could help Everton in a relegation dogfight. They have recalled Ellis Simms who is much further on in his development. I can't see Dobbin being recalled.

There is a god after all.
Burton want to sign Osula. Do you think they would want Collins instead and we could sign Osula? They both have stupid sending offs this season but Osula's was no problem as we were 4 0 up. Collins's against Port Vale was far more costly. Osula's stats are far superior to those of Collins albeit in easier games and he is much younger.
Very sad news to read of Gianluca Vialli's premature passing away amid battle with cancer.
As a big fan of Serie A during the 90s he was certainly a player to watch and admire. A charismatic character, great player with a huge impact on the PL in the 90s during our influx of European stars.
May he Rest In Peace.

Rush of blood. Playing in a competitive, aggressive sport will result in the odd kick out in frustration / stupid sending off. I think Lawrence's continual poor disciplinary record whilst with us or Sibley's poor temperament (although showing small signs of improvement) deserves more criticism than Collins'.

I thought the sendings off of Collins and Osula were both ludicrous decisions. We now accept such things and castigate the player for their lack of discipline but surely we should be arguing for common sense on the part of the officials? Was Osula REALLY guilty of violent conduct? It's a nonsense. It was just a tiny flick of the leg that wouldn't have hurt an osteoporotic fly. Sendings off generally spoil the game and the resultant 3-match punishment is completely out of proportion to the crime. Fair enough if it is a tackle that could genuinely break a leg, or if someone tries to punch somebody's lights out a la Frannie Lee, but red cards for handbags? The world's gone mad, I tell you.

Was Osula really guilty of violent conduct, yes. Was the conduct particularly violent, not really. Why wasn't a penalty given as Osula was wrestled down in the penalty area. Maintaining your cool when incidents like that happen is part of the game. Those who can't won't have a long career.
What constitutes violent conduct is subjective. I am arguing that the bar in this respect is too low. It is inevitable that in a physical game there will be the occasional minor contretemps that could be handled without feeling the need to send the player off the pitch. It was interesting that in the World Cup the referees had clearly been told to be slightly more lenient in this regard. There were very few red cards indeed, despite the occasional flare-up, and I thought the games were much better for it.
Sunday KO (I think) so even by our standards a bit early.......
It all depends on the rules themselves, instructions which may have been given to referees by the relevant governing body and finally, as Vidal says, the opinion of the ref in question.
Going back to pre-season I seem to recall that, at least for the Prem, refs had been instructed to be more lenient and allow more contact and that seemed to be borne out early on as I remember watching some "blood and guts" games and found it hard to believe that some of the challenges were being allowed to go unpunished. Gradually that seemed to change and we are now pretty well back to square one.
In terms of our League and in the absence of VAR and looking at some of our red cards, then I feel that both Collins' and Osula's reds were harsh and that the refs were not applying common sense. I'm sure C believed he was punching the ground (I've seen him do it again recently when fortunately there was no oppo player near him) and O's silly flick was just that, no intent to harm and indeed causing no harm. Both acts were acts of frustration, nothing more and I would have thought a yellow in each case would have been fair. If a player is to be sent off it should be for something serious. Too many games have been spoiled by over-zealous refereeing.
On another front I really dislike the new approach to "handball" in the penalty area. While I was happy that Fozzie earned a penalty agin Accie I still think that the defender had no chance to get his arm out of the way and I've seen loads of pens given which I felt were crazy, albeit within the new rule.
As an aside I've just watched a Barnsley fan forum on You Tube where all four B fans reckoned B would lose this Sunday!
Finally, where is the signing which appeared to be imminent about 6 days ago?
Possibly the signing of our Head of Recruitment, it's been indicated it's Mark Thomas ( Oxford United ), nothing concrete so waiting on solid confirmation.
At present it's a guessing game by media , Who Derby Could Sign....
Jordan Hugill was one of the name's mentioned , only reason he stood out was because he's well known in the Championship. At 30 years old, unlikely to fit into PW's transfer policy. I'd prefer someone with more energy and happily take a lesser known, hungrier player.
