Agree with you about Bull, Batty, but you just can't give the ball away like Jack did against Man U. He did it on at least three occasions and brought a lot of unnecessary pressure onto us. Personally, I would sell him and buy a couple of full backs. You can get great value for about 12 million, as we found with Wober.

I thought that too - taking on a few players then gave it away

Can’t fault Jack’s tenacity but I agree he did give the ball away by mostly choosing the wrong final pass.

There was one in particular when he played a really difficult ball for Bamford to control (which he didn’t) when he could have made a simple pass to Willy who was free and looking to run at their right back.

Love Jack but he needs to ditch this Jesse “down the middle” idea and play to the space out wide at times.

At least a couple of occasions there was an easy pass to a wide open Gnonto and he chose to cut back inside.

I’ve long considered Ayling to be good and bad in equal measures. His runs up the wing are so effective (when he doesn’t lose the ball). At the back, it’s the man he tends to lose, and this has cost us a fair few goals. Every player makes mistakes in every game but Ayling is a Championship level player who was elevated to a new level by Bielsa. Bielsa’s gone and so has Ayling’s top-tier credentials. Having said all that, he’s such a positive influence and a likeable bloke, I hope we keep him on for another year.

Yet Marsch and now Skubala rate him more highly than a full Danish international and a player who walks into Championship sides Lorra.

Was not too impressed with Jack against ManU. He gives the ball away too often, and also chooses the most difficult final pass, that stops Leeds' attack, and puts pressure on the defence.

In my opinion, he is not the answer going forward

As much as I like him in this new role, it seems the
club are moving to a 4-3-3 as the predominant formation
(based on the managers up for the job).

That will mean less playing time for Jack. He's not
replacing Gnonto on the left in attack. Or Sin/Rutter
on the right. And our midfield three will be Adams/
McKennie/Roca.

In the 4-2-3-1, he'll continue to play that pseudo 10.
I think he's getting better there. And for me, he played
better than he's getting credit for against sk. um.

The game was frenetic, mistakes were made, things didn't always come off. Wober made a Llorente style pass to Bamford...yet he was undoubtably our best defender. Meslier should have stopped Sancho's shot...yet he played quite well. I also think Harrison has done well centrally, we should remember that this was against a bang in-form top team, the real tests are coming up in the shape of Everton and Southampton.

It would be very very like us to somehow contrive to lose both Bill and Drameh in the summer wouldn't it. Probably by waiting too long for either to make up their mind on whether they want to stay.
