A few of the players look like they are suffering post World Cup slumps, and with the same XI playing every week there is a case for freshening the team up. Trossard is the obvious one to come in, be it for Martinelli or Eddie.
Xhaka is another who probably could do with a rest, but his replacement isn't that clear. Could go with Jorginho or Vieira.

They were playing way above expectations and in some cases ability to be fair. There was always going to be some sort of slump.

The good thing is we're still in an incredible position, we've just gotta grind out results until the players get their form back again

This is the thing we don't have enough players to cover some crucial players and even if we have few players who can do that they're already injured. For instance, Smith Rowe and R. Nelson who can provide a good cover they're missing through injury. Saka might suffer due to burnout. Martinelli has to play against City. We need legs. That means Nketiah will start on the bench. I don't think Jorginho should come in because he slows our game down more. However, I feel sorry for Tierney because he has been an exceptional LB, but he is being kept out by Zinchenko who is on a different level of class, but Tomiyasu can come in for Ben White against City.

The good thing about Man City is they won't play like Newcastle or Brentford. Because Arteta struggles to break down teams which park the bus and it's more likely that we may have to adapt those tactics on some stages against Man City as they are so good on the ball. However, we shall see a fantastic football on Wednesday though even a draw won't be a good result for us seeing as we're playing at home.

VAR officials have been shocking this season imo.

The onfield officials have a tough job and I'd be reluctant to be overly critical of them but when you can watch things back on video there should be no excuse.

We've had 1 shocking call go in our favour in recent weeks and quite a number go against us.

Probably will have to wait for a new generation of officials to come through before we see them getting it right.
I wonder how much the PGMOL are doing to ensure the next generation is high quality?

City wil probably rip us apart, they look riled up after these charges by the FA.

Unfortunately, as we found last year, if you don't play well enough to win the game comfortably then bad and/or incompetent decisions cost you. Fortunately we've received apologies which are very helpful in our quest to win the title.

Everton and Brentford had pretty clear game plans to nullify us and play very direct when they got the ball rather than try to play it out through our press. City aren't going to come with that game plan but will obviously offer a more sustained threat going forward but that should hopefully enable us to create decent chances as well.

A fully fit Jesus and Smith Rowe would come in handy right now but we are just going to have to be patient as there's still plenty of games left and both should give us a lift. Hopefully.
