if you read further down, the bbc 'believes' it's not just his dad, but his uncle as well.

kind of shocking really.... you'd think such a nice lad as rooney would spread the wealth so his family didnt have to resort to this sort of thing.

you do know he has only been arrested and not actually found guilt of anything right? i don't understand the mentality of some fans i don't see why you would use allegations (at this stage) against someones father as a reason to have a pop at the son or more specifically the fans of the club his son plays for after-all we can't choose our parents can we?

but i suppose like most football fans it's the 'any small victory' mentality rearing it's pointless head again.

do you seriously think that when someone's family gets nicked for football corruption and their son is one of the worlds most famous footballers it's not going to get discussed?

I am quite sure that when John Terry's dad was arrested, no united fans commented on it in the slightest...... oh, wait......

He's been arrested and allegations have been made, last time I checked, this qualifies as a scandal.

today certainly does seem to be the day for surprising scandals....

though, tbh, i know him better as Micheal Le Vell the poker player, as i don't watch soaps

discussed? 4 people commented with a smiley, is that a discussion where you come from?

And what does that have to do with me i didn't rule out United fans in my reply did i? you think i'm playing the 'holier than thou' card? i'm not football fans in general are really quite pathetic i mean seriously using the transgressions of a parent to have a pop at someone.. it's like been 12 and back in a playground

you said yourself people had responded with smilies... how is that having a pop at wayne?

i think you're getting a little over-sensitive me ol' luv.

ps: if you're that bothered, why not drop the bbc a line and ask them to only refer to him by his name, not as "wayne rooney's dad"

I'm sure that will make the whole thing better

Rooney senior is a handsome chap isn't he?

Zaphod Zoeller do you seriously think people are not using this to have a pop?

i have seen 5 articles about this so far 2 are on the Liverpool board (our historic rivals) 2 are on the City board (Our current rivals) and one is on the United board posted by Red Mamba (total moron of a Liverpool fan) is this a co-incidence or are our rivals using this to have a pop at us as I originally suggested?

and as i said, i am sure no united fans had a pop over john terry's dad? i accept your statement that you did not, however a lot did. unfortunately, because of that, you are going to have to studiously try to ignore the ones you will now get aimed at united, now that a united player is in the same boat.

swings and roundabouts mate.

.................

Well at least you agree with me, we got there in the end <cuddle> i know United fans did the same over JTs dad and will likely do the same again, it just all seems a bit 'playground mentality' to me, i mean i will openly admit my dad was a wrong-un and a total and utter but that shouldn't be used as a reflection of me if anything it makes me more determined to be a better person doubly so now that he is dead.

Not arrogant is clearly taking this shiocking news very badly

I think Liverpool fans should remember that all the people arrested including the player who is alleged to have been involved in fixing are from Liverpool. But then that's hardly ever a news in Liverpool...

No smoke without fire. There was the Daren Ferguson issue where Fergie refused to talk to the bbc for years. Then there was the channel 4 programe where a far eastern fella claimed Fergie helped with loaning players and knew him well. Now this with Rooneys dad..

Ouch. Wrong time to mess up your sentence "Not Arrogant Just Better MUFC 19 We are buying..."
