When you go to the bog and crap do you let the world know?..

Good I'm not Javi or anyone else before him, because I'd keep my mouth shut about anything that is letting on how or team is, it could be done extra so others wonder if they'll be facing these players or not in their next games!..

Nothing against a boss that don't let to much known, and you are no more entitled to know what others shouldn't know!..

I agree, saying "no comment" is better information.

Btw, if you don't mind me saying so, I love the punctuation style - the skipped commas, missing question mark, lack of spaces before and/or after practically every full stop you don't forget to include.

It's reminiscent of Saramago's Blindness, and really helps to convey the impression of someone on a breathless rant.

There seems to be cloak of secrecy when it comes to injured players.
We had to get an update on Stuart Dallas from Michael O'Neill

Lufcgermany I believe you were a Bielsa admirer well he used to name the team before most matches .So was he wrong.

Gracia has already said he doesn't like to give update on injured players as the opposing team have knowledge who might/might not be available. I thought that was common knowledge.

I wish I had The Donns problems. Must be bliss to have the time to get so worked up about something so small.

Donn, I liked Bielsa a lot, and as coaches do, one'll do it one way, the other another!..

I wouldn't have anything to say if he'd said nothing!..

It's not a problem for me. I mean, did anyone know what Marcelo was on about half the time?

Which brings to mind many other cryptic statements by managers and players over the years. How about:
'When seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.' E. Cantona.

Other cryptic comments gratefully accepted...

Looked up "Skam" as it is a word I am unfamiliar with "A crazy friend who wants to go out clubbing/drinkng all the time. man, you're becoming a "skam".
Is that what you meant Dong?

Fans clearly like information on players progression with injuries but this is something we are going to have to get used to until at least the end of the season. Makes getting the teamsheet 1-hour before kick off more exciting.

I think it's all been said regarding lack of info on injured players that if it keeps the fans in the dark but has the element of surprise for the opposition to having to make last minute adjustments to their game plan if for example they think Wober and Gnonto are non starters but in actual fact they are part of Gracia's starting line up, then I'm all for it.... any advantage, however small, physical or psychological is worth the cloak and dagger.

Also Donn on It'sonlyagame's analysis of your writing style being reminiscent of Saramago's Blindness novel... I initially thought this was tongue in cheek and a bit of a mickey take but not at all it's a definite compliment and you should check out below a typical example of Saramago's work if you are unaware how closely your natural way with words is uncannily similar to the nobel prize winner. Respect man!

If he gave better information you would have just written the opposite article to this one.

You utter moron.

Just watched the press conference and I have to ask, what the hell are you on about Dong.

Gracia was asked for an update on the injuries in the squad and he said that nothing had changed from Tuesday. That indicates that in two days nobody has miraculously recovered from their injuries. So no update on Wober, Adams, Forshaw or Dallas and, crucially, no other injury concerns.
He corrected one guy who seemed to be under the impression that Gnonto didn't play on Tuesday because he was injured, pointing out he was on the bench and was just an unused sub.
So he was open and honest.
Nobody asked a follow up on expected return dates so he didn't need to answer those questions. Actually those have been done to death and maybe we should wait for when there is news rather than going over the same old, same old.
Don't really watch the press conferences as a rule but you can see Javi is a very humble man and why he is liked by the squad.

I'll look at the match day squad and see what that says, I'm sure if the best are available they'll be used!..

But, like I've said, there is no reason why the Boss man should let on who's fit or isn't!..

As much as we want to know, that's only playing into our opponents hands!..

I think football people should just stick to football not philosophy. Though I did sympathise with Roy Keane's sentiments here:
"At the end of the day they need to get behind the team. Away from home our fans are fantastic, I'd call them the hardcore fans. But at home they have a few drinks and probably the prawn sandwiches, and they don't realise what's going on out on the pitch."

Maybe if the poster just accepts the answer like "they are as well as can be expected", it might satisfy his gripe, after all it works for the NHS. Seriously, we all know coaches don't give much away to opposing clubs, and we all know that's why clubs have spies at training sessions.
