Relegation confirmed

Scunthorpe relegated from Conference.
Massive drop for them as I remember they were in the Champ not so long ago.

Reflections Rams v Dons
Well, yet another disappointing afternoon....and how many times have we seen this happen ??? All the play... and throwing it away. We just never seem to learn do we.
Yes, we may still turn things around and finish a top 6 team but despite playing well (I felt) it was always likely MK would equalise with their one shot on target... and so it proved to be. And so we ended the 90 mins with 7 mins of extra time...in which MK took their time... and we huffed and puffed to no avail.
Sadly I don't feel a point at this stage of the season is good enough...
Cheers. Terry. UTR

Have to take the positives from that, energy back.

Really feel Knight needs a talking to though, not for the poor touch but staying down instead of fighting for the ball.

I thought the final home game would be a crucial one to attend.
Oh well, it'll be a nice day out.

28 shots

We were just blasting shots though, instead of trying to male a few more clear cut chances. A bit more guile and think we'd be closer to automatics than 6th.

We either need Pukki or CMs ar5e.

That will likely be a very expensive draw

Relax weedy earthlings. It's just perspective. We still have an (outside) chance of promotion, which would be interesting. And if so, Championship footy has its attractions. But no one in their right minds wants to be promoted further. Quad Tuum Tene 🐏

Simple truth is we aren’t good enough nor do we warrant promotion. Will be interesting how we strengthen in the summer.

And yet another example of blatant cheating when Joules falls beyond the goal-line, lies "injured" off the pitch and then rolls back on feigning serious injury!!! Sickening.

We did enough to win three games. Much better performance BUT you see it so often. Team A pulverises team B but fails to score - team B scores from only shot on goal.

For me what's clear is that players such as:

* Knight
* Bird
* Sibley

Are not as good as we think they are, they've done well this season but Jason Knight has managed 3 goals in 40 games, Louie Sibley 6 goals in 44 games.
Max Bird ( not expected to be high on goals scored) 2 goals in 37 games.

At the start of the season once our squad was being rebuilt I did expect Knight and/or Sibley to hit 10+ goals each.

William Osula scored 5 goals by Jan, I'd have expected a few players at this level to have taken over that figure by the second half. At present Osula is 6th on our list of goalscorers.

This league is nuts. No-one is that good, if we play with that energy we have a very good chance of making the playoffs. We need some guile though and I've seen no evidence that, that is being coached into the team.

Our footballing IQ has fallen as our workrate has risen. We need a combination of both IMHO.

I must admit I'm of that opinion...

Further thoughts:

There were many fine individual performances, esp from Rooney, Cashin, Hourihane (his best this season, I think), Smith and my MOM, Roberts whom I hope we can sign next season, preferably permanently.

Points of criticism: not taking our chances, poor decisions at times, M-L who did well other than let someone get away from him immediately before MK scored and Wildsmith's kicking. You don't need your goalie putting dead balls into touch when the oppo is under the cosh.

I'm still hopeful because we can't keep having all these opportunities and not scoring. Sometimes you need good "bounces" etc. Take the FGR game. We were far the better side and deserved to win but both our goals were fortunate. We have had so little go our way in recent games so it was good to get lucky at FGR. I was hoping our luck had turned and maybe it still will.
