Fitness levels have been dreadful. The tank is empty after 70 minutes, we are chasing shadows every game we play. We have the talent to do well in the Championship, but we have to work on our stamina.

Yep👍. That was the inflection point where the (now so-called) big 6 started to emerge … he ferrucked up our chances of being in that group at a critical stage of development of the Premier League and European football in general.

We are no better than the likes of Sheffield United now. We just aren't a big club anymore. Im 44 and remember us winning the league and that amazing CL run. Its all just memories now. Cant see it ever happening again. We'll be a yo yo team at best.

I think the second half v Palace beats today by a long way.

Bottom line is our players just aren’t good enough. Can’t fault the effort but the lack of quality shows in their mentally. Confidence is shot.

Roll on next season. We might actually enjoy a few games.

I was baffled as to why anyone would think Allardyce would make any difference.

Best comment I read was "At least he's English". Unbelievable.

From not bothering who would take our penalties last week to the most gutless, spineless performance in a huge game I've ever seen, it's been an enormous waste of half a million pounds.

Yes there may have been other performances as poor. But bearing in mind what was riding on the game, what happened yesterday was a sheer disgrace.

And please don't try & say it's not all over yet. We specialise in making ordinary sides look outstanding and another 3 or 4 goal defeat is on the cards next week.

The one plus I can gather from yesterday is surely that display has ruled out any chance Allardyce had of leading us out for the first game next season.

He actually thought we would beat both West Ham and Spurs. How wrong can he be?
