Maddison Speaks

I feel pretty similar 99. I don’t doubt Maddison’s commitment and that he tried (too hard sometimes which really didn’t help).

He has some poorly misplaced social media comments that came back to bite him but hopefully he’ll learn from that. However, I still enjoyed his candid interviews and like the fact he was always honest and didn’t follow the media trained 101 answers.

Good luck to him wherever he goes.

I can't be grumpy about Madders. He's mostly been one of the best players at the club. One really dumb social media comment shouldn't disparage that.

He's been an integral and important part of the success we've had.

In an ideal world he would say I feel devastated about the relegation, I'm going to play next year in the Championship with a pay cut to help the club get back to where it should be. We don't live in cloud cookoo land though so he leaves with my best wishes.

If he's absolutely devestated to be relegated doesn't it mean he'll be with you next season?

It probably would have done if they hadn't had a collective brainfart and instead a fully functioning Vardy had taken it.

As you indicate though, Madders was off in any event. Unless our useless DoF had allowed him to run down his contract.

Incidentally, this 'devastated' sounds a bit like crocodile tears to me. He will likely end up at his new Champions League club with a fat new contract whilst leaving us to 'enjoy' wet Tuesday night trips to Stoke, Millwall etc to watch our new team of strangers struggle to gel in the bearpit that is the Championship.

I don't know what's up with me this morning, why I'm feeling so gloomy; perhaps I also need to take a summer break before I end up being even more bitter and twisted. Maybe what isn't helping is that the signs so far from Top are that he hasn't learnt anything worthwhile, nor is he likely to given the two investigators he's appointed to review the debacle are the two most likely principal actors in this tragedy. Thus highly unlikely to report 'We need a new DoF and/or CEO as a matter of urgency'.
