I’m happy enough if he was appointed. Any fans I know of Celtic tell me we are lucky to be getting him!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a huge risk though, they won’t like to hear it but winning with Celtic just isn’t an achievement - it’s like having a cheat code with football manager.
Other than that he has had some success with Japans biggest and richest club side and did okay in Australia - he was also relegated one season in Australia.
The good news is that we are the club where the speculation and guessing games will stop - we and he will finally find out if he is cut out for the elite game or not. It’s rubber underpants time but I really hope it works out for us and him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Genuinely struggling to understand the “huge risk”. You’ve just finished 8th in a 6 horse race, and been abject in the Cups … again. So what’s the risk exactly? Ange would be a risk for teams expecting to win things. No offence, but worst case at Spurs is you’ll still be pash, but at least playing attractive, attacking football in the process.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The risk is that we have been CL regulars, finalists in 2019 - who was the last Scottish club to make the final? Was colour TV around?
We are a club that is capable of being in there and mixing it with the elite sides - we are also capable of being pizz like last season.
Nuno was punted after having us in ninth place after a few months - I can easily see Ange replicating that, we need to start moving forwards again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CL regulars? You’ve only made top 4 once in the last 4 seasons, and that was a scraped 4th on the last day. You can also maybe wum us about your great Euro pedigree when you’ve actually won ol’ big ears, eh?
For what it’s worth, I have doubts that Ange’s all out attacking methods will be successful at Spurs. Pep’s deploying Stones as a nominal RB who’s basically playing central mid. Ange has been doing that since day one up here, but with BOTH FBs playing the inverted role with licence to come inside … while also only playing 2 CBs, who can be left pretty exposed on the counter, as he doesn’t even favour a genuine defensive midfielder, just gets a naturally attacking one (our captain) to sit deeper. Now all that has been great domestically, most of the time … but decent sides exploit that, as we’ve found out in Europe. Maybe Ange will adapt though?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs have been in transition in the last 4 years, so I am not sure why you chose 4 years maybe to suit the narrative as if you were to say 5 years you would have to mention Spurs being not only in CL, but in the final of CL.
Celtic may have been in many CLs, but how may CL finals have they played in. None
Spurs did win the European trophies first having done the double too.
For me, Ange maybe the best manager yet to be discovered but coming from a very weak league like the scottish league, I have my concerns as that is a very weak league
Ange will find it soonenough how tough it is in the English PL compared with playing against Rangers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You might want to do some research
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I could round up few of my old team mates, and go around Scotland beating all the Scottish clubs but we know it's not that hard....

Rangers finished the league on 92 points - more than City won the English prem with - and still only came second. To say beating that total was "easy" for Celtic is disingenuous. There is very, very little margin of error for an Old Firm manager. Finishing top 4 in England at a club with the financial resources of Spurs is a much easier task.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rangers and Celtic have 6 elite a games a year, then Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen can be half decent, the rest is pub league. Getting top 3 with Spurs now means out doing 4 of Man City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle - Rangers and Celtic would be relegation battlers in the Prem, it’s just a different level down here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Managers don’t bring their old team with them to a new club. In saying that, I would take most of ours over yours, save for the guy up front.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs would win the SPL 9 years out of 10 if we were up there - the Prem is different level
Surely for spurs its about getting back into the top 4
Ange will have his work cut out to achieve that

We won the UEFA cup in 1984 mate
Meh, he may well be a top manager or he may well be a massive flop, either way he is destined to fail under the misery of ENIC.
It would be an underwhelming appointment, but he would jump at the chance and he will be a perfect yes man for Levy.
Levy will not want a repeat of Conte calling him and Lewis out, and nothing will ever change under their ownership.

Celtic European Champions in1967. When did Spurs last win a European trophy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs have won 3 Euro trophies - first British team to do so in 63, then 72 and 84. Very few British sides get near Spurs European record, United, Liverpool, Forest Chelsea - that’s about it.
Making a CL final or beating Dunny on the Wold to make the old style European cup final - meh
Sounds like it’s close to an announcement one way or the other - we’re at the Arne Slot rejection stage now, I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if he turns us down, who the faaack wants to work for Levy.
If he does come then he will of course have my support, and I wish him good luck - he will faaacking need it believe me
So spurs would win the SPL 9 times out of 10? Are ppl that thick that they think playing in Scotland you can pay Harry Kane 300k p,w? You would be lucky to finish 3rd each year on the budget you get here. It’s like dropping Celtic into the EPL, instantly allowed to go 1billion £ in debt to build a new squad.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Celtic were the FIRST British team to not only play in the European Cup Final, they were also the first British team to win it back in 1967🤔 Your’e welcome!🥴👍

Willing to give the guy a chance. At least he plays attacking football. Levy must know If Ange fails then his head will roll.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense. If that were true his head would have rolled with Mourinho. Every manager its the same story. I dont get how anyone could be excited with this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not excitement, just hoping for a semblance of normality.

Celtic European Champions in1967. When did Spurs last win a European trophy?

Meh, he may well be a top manager or he may well be a massive flop, either way he is destined to fail under the misery of ENIC.
It would be an underwhelming appointment, but he would jump at the chance and he will be a perfect yes man for Levy.
Levy will not want a repeat of Conte calling him and Lewis out, and nothing will ever change under their ownership.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Celtic were the FIRST British team to not only play in the European Cup Final, they were also the first British team to win it back in 1967🤔 Your’e welcome!🥴👍

Willing to give the guy a chance. At least he plays attacking football. Levy must know If Ange fails then his head will roll.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense. If that were true his head would have rolled with Mourinho. Every manager its the same story. I dont get how anyone could be excited with this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not excitement, just hoping for a semblance of normality.
