Yeah they were both completely shiyte before the money and had zero chance or capability of being anything other than that without the state backed clubs.
We literally could be, with better owners, just by using money we should be able to spend and invest in the club.

The only positive and definite guarantees they bring with all the cash is the improvement of the stadium and infrastructure of the ground, unless they fck it up with some horrible design.
No way of knowing how well they will do on the playing side, depends who they have making the football decisions and if it’s the same crew we have now it doesn’t matter how much money they have.
The Qatar deal is much better for the current minority investors in United not that the Glazers will give a crap about that.
Not sure what to think about it, Jim can buy the club but am not sure he has the cash to burn like Qatar to revolutionise the club, just hope it concludes soon it’s a huge cloud over the club while our still not really noisy neighbours claim all

Not quite true, there was only ever four clubs outside of the established top four or five that they were interested in, us and Newcastle being two of them.
And yes, Real, Bayern, yourselves, Liverpool and Barca can all compete. A couple of those have been badly run themselves.
I’d advocate a different ownership model entirely if it came with a revised distribution model too, I’ve said that since day one, I still hate the formation of the pl and the changes in financial rules that came with it. Never going to happen though, particularly not when people think “galactico clubs” are a good thing in their own right either.
