Underwhelming

Early bells yet. Worry when the season starts.

Have to disagree with #6. Losing Kyogo for me would have been an even bigger problem than losing Jota. We’ve (probably) avoided that, much to my pleasant surprise.

Agree, so far. See my username

Think “underwhelming” is a pretty fair assessment, so far anyway. Yes it’s early days in the window, but we’ve 2 massive away games just a few weeks away. Thought BR would have wanted to put a marker down with at least one first XI signing by now, but then Pistol is very much back in town, so maybe no surprise that fook all seems to be happening any time soon.

Yes underwhelming is a fair assessment thus far but now is not the time to make a judgement.

They get the benefit of the doubt since there's been a change of manager and he needs to see for himself what he has got and what he needs. We're all in no doubt that he would have been promised substantial backing in the transfer market otherwise he wouldn't have taken the job. I think we've been spoiled recently with the Ange approach to the close season and getting business done early (Beale seems to have taken note and done likewise).

If we get 2/3 first team ready players it will have been a decent window imo

OK, here goes.

I've no doubt that and other aspects were part of the deal. However, the revelations this week that he was in constant touch with Ange 'making sure things were on track' is dubious behaviour given his own team were falling to pieces if not a bit creepy. Add in that house purchase and it is almost as though this things was planned for a lot longer than at first it might appear? Throw in Davies going with Ange as another.

Yes, I'm 2+2=5 and Bacofoil headgear here but nevertheless.

And Anges agent saying they had been working on the spurs deal for quite a while.

lol and Rodgers saying as much stuff as he could get away with that couldnt get him sacked but would have pushed the Leicester boss to do so.

It’s when you get to “0+1=55” I’d worry.

Does all seem more than a tad suspect, to be fair.

Jota is irreplaceable??

We never replaced Larsson, Jinky, Collins, Du Wei, Mjallby, Moussa?

Well actually no we never did fully replace unique talents like Larsson and Jinky or indeed Dalglish ,Lubo,Mcstay, and a few others who were unique talents, Jota had he stayed longer could have been one of those imho ,he not only had talent but even when things weren't going his way he would never hide and usually contributed at some point in every game .The others you have named were not at that level imho .Maybe du wei though 🤔🤣

SO not happening, but would be superb.

In less good news, AJ set to miss the start of the season … Ralston it is then. CCV must be borderline for the first few games as well after his op. Just as well we’ve no big games early doors, and have already made all those big signings to get them bedded in, eh?

Have to say I'm getting a bit concerned about the lack of movement on incomings for us .As I said we are currently significantly weaker with the loss of Jota and so far no sign of any exciting incomings?

Whilst I hope that Celtic remain quiet and go all in on the we tried windows of old I think there will be significant spending by the time its all over.

Tell him MJ is apparently fooked again. That’ll cheer him up.
