Just goes to show the extent Rangers put staunchness before business acumen, no surprise they went bust.
The only extravaganza that separates the Scottish game from any other comparable league, the games that attract the TV money and international exposure, and they denigrate the experience all because it was too hard for the loyal to watch Leigh Griffiths and Scott Brown gloating.

Pull your socks up Rangers, bite the bullet, admit you were wrong to pander to your extremists and lets get back to the good old days, seeing you humbled in front of 8k Timaloys in your own midden.

Alternatively, sort out your bottle/battery throwing chimps and put up a net.

It was tongue in cheek.

Facts are facts though, Rangers created this fiasco.

Anyway, apparently Moussa Djenepo has rejected Rangers. Not sure what to make of that given we’re playing without wingers, and have an abundance of attackers/midfielders now

If the old allocation is truly dead and gone then at least the "Euro allocation" argument is somewhat of a decent compromise.

The 700odd allocation is pointless, and adds nothing to the atmosphere that makes it a derby.

On a side note though - if Celtic have asked for certain safety conditions to be met/addressed ahead of the upcoming game, and they haven't been met - I'd feel we're within our rights to tell them to ram the request for the return fixture.
I get the rules state some need to be provided, but I imagine we'll use the safety concerns not being addressed as our reason for not providing tickets for the December derby.

Would be good to see us take the first step here and allow them back to CP. No need for us to lower ourselves to their bitterness, even if I do get it. Fack sitting watching thousands of their fans going mental as they beat us over and over and over..

Not sure if you're being serious but it was seeking more revenue (via season tickets) that led to to Rangers cutting the away allocation. Anyway, I'm thoroughly fed up with all the to-ing and fro-ing over this.

I wasn't being particularly serious because like you, it's all too predictable and teams can do what they want re:away fan allocations.
Celtic, Hibs and Hearts recognize the importance of derbies to the fans and to the *product of Scottish football, so they offer non-derby game season tickets, so could Rangers.
Appreciate that Rangers have sold this season's season tickets so nothing will happen this year but moving on, they could allocate say 2,500 seats to Celtic next year.

Should be a rule on minimum number of away fans. Germany do and it is based on a percentage I think

Absolute piffle and nonsense. And you know it. We’ve been here before. Happy to move on (albeit it’s too late now), but when this myth keeps getting trotted out it needs putting to bed.

I know it’s what some bears like to believe. That and/or the “we can’t see a bit of the pitch from some seats” is the usual rubbish.

The Rangers AGM immediately prior to the season before Rangers started limiting the Celtic away attendance was there for all to see and hear. Ignore it if it makes anyone feel better.

Because of that we are where we are.

Why should they say anything? The clubs have until 14 days prior to the game to try and reach an agreement. If they can’t, then the SPFL can step in and make a decision. I’m sure we’ll have thought that through.

What’s a reasonable allocation? Amongst all the bile, zero is about right. It’s fwcked now and I for one never want to see us or Rangers being “forced” to accommodate 708 fans. Fwcking ludicrous.

European allocations or just forget all the waffle in between. It’s just not worth it and we were actually all accepting it (not liking it) until we refused these 708 tickets and Rangers started demanding theirs. Get Tae fwck as far away from that pisssh as is possible.

posted on 18/8/23

And I seriously doubt we’ll accommodate anything the SPFL say on giving Rangers an away allocation.

They’ll be politely told to do one and we’ll accept the paltry fine. Then it’ll be Rangers turn again. And so this nonsense continues.

There we are

SPFL - the organisation that hides behind 'we just carry out the wishes of the member clubs'?

And that is even before lawyers run through the definition of 'reasonable'.

Bisgrove has apparently pre-empted that by greeting to the organisation he hates? Can see Doncaster's grin from here.
