If Rasmus had signed for City he'd have a few in the league, because he would of have more and better chances

It is hard to argue with his output so far, but...

It is the Eredivisie. Feyenoord have 32 in 9 games, a lot of his goals have come in big wins and 9 of his goals came in just 4 games, his strike rate at international level is poor, Ajax are awful so his hat-trick against them isn't as impressive as it may sound, it is his first really stand-out season.

He does hold the rare achievement of scoring a hat-trick over more than one day though.

You could point to Serhou Guirassy, who has a better goal rate of 14 in 8 Bundesliga games in a better league, for a team that is relatively worse.

I am sure if Gimenez keeps up his strike rate he will move to a better league, but i am not convinced he will become one of the top strikers in the world.

Football people commentators and fans have got to stop using contemporary Dutch Football and specifically Ajax as a footballing yardstick. And as a Man United supporter this narrative hasn't done a particular great deal for the fortunes of my club in very recent seasons. Yet.

Crushing it in the eredivise doesn’t always translate to crushing it anywhere else. As any United fan ought to know.

Nope but Ruud, Suarez and Kurt are good success stories.

so was Cruyff, Neeskins, Arie Haan, Van Basten, Gullit and Bergkamp. If all you want to do is play a game of Top Trumps - Dutch Footballers.

What game are you playing? Being negative for negatives sake? What does it matter to you if someone gives a shout out to a promising player?

Did you read the OP and see anything that offended you to the point you had to pipe up and try and shoot down a shout out?

Becoming like VC isn’t a great look 🫡

And of course RVP.

Wouldn't say RvP crushed it in the Eredivisie.

No Im not been negative Robb. Or trying to morph into anyone else that you dont get on with. Im just contributing to your thread. LOL

Im being realistic about where Dutch football is and how it doesnt quite translate to the big boys leagues these days anymore like it used to. As others have mentioned but you dont seem to mind them. Yes Dutch football was great in the 1970s and 80s and they probably invented modern football as we know it. But that was a very long time ago and Ajax Feyenoord and PSV have done well out of that narrative as selling clubs for a long time since.

If this kid IS any good in Holland I am sure that Erik will convince United to part with £79m and 200K a week (seems to be the 'United come and get me Im a dutchman' benchmark) probably next summer.

As someone who's watching him every game for the past 2 seasons, I believe he's going to be the next big thing as CF, yes. But only in context of that there's a lack of 'classic' centre forwards nowadays.

He's a natural goalscoring instinct like Inzaghi and Makaay, but this season he's been developing his allround game a bit more too and dribbles a bit like early Suarez (fumbling the ball somehow and still get past defenders). I think he would thrive in Serie A and La Liga at teams dominating possession and possibly in the Prem to but you only have Arsenal and City who play like that and maybe Brighton last year...

Perhaps ETH hasn’t realised he plays in Holland yet?

Kuyt perhaps?

It is a bit beyond Blobbys capabilities to work that out sadly.
