What’s all this old sheite? She’s been dead for about a decade hasn’t she? Isn’t there a Whitney Houston fan girl Reddit page you can post these boring middle of the road ballads on?

Probably. They certainly ain't middle of the road though!

Do yourself a favour and listen to the middle one. And consider giving yourself a slap when you realise you're sitting there with your mouth wide open in awe.

Not sure Mozart was much of a singer to be honest.

Not really a fan of Whitney’s although she has got a great voice. Best live vocalist imo would have to be Freddie Mercury

There's a difference between a performer and a vocalist obviously. Great performer though.

Best vocal on a Queen song's George Michael imo.

Always preferred Dolly’s version of I WALY. More passion than Whitney’s

Yeah I agree, Houston’s version of IWALY makes my facking ears bleed, she and Carey are horrendous warbling over singers. Less is often more. Anyway she’s brown bread now so it’s academic.

The overall performance is a mess because Carey is trying super hard not to get blown off stage by Whitney (and I suppose maybe Whitney is partly culpable there).
But Whitney's vocal's excellent. Maybe it doesn't match up to her early days when she just had to open her mouth and perfection fell out, and I could agree that she slightly over sings that particular performance in parts. It's by far her best performance I've seen after 1994 though as an individual vocal. All the more so considering she's got Carey warbling in her ear.

The Mozart of our times. What absolute rubbish. Comparing one of the most brilliant composers and musicians of all time with a pop singer with a good voice. Mozart died in 1791 and millions of people still listen to the music he wrote. I guarantee you nobody will be listening to Whitney Houston in 200 years time.

Yeah! True!

Hey, if someone enjoys the songs then it's done something positive.

In terms of female vocalists, I really rate the likes of:
KD Lang
Aretha Franklin
Samara Joy
Anna Nebretko
Donij Van Doorn
Lisa Fischer
Leyla Gencer
Maria Callas

None of them have Whitney's ability though.
