The majority of freedom fighters throughout history have targeted those in charge of whatever they're fighting, with some civilian casualties caught up in it.

Starmer is such a coward right now. I understand he’s playing the game but hopefully people remember how little spine he has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So Robb. Are you asking British people to vote Conservative at the coming General Election?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Strange way to defend Starmer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im not defending him, Im supporting him. The UK election wont be fought over this issue. You seem to be suggesting that UK voters shouldn't support him over this issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not really sure what people expect Starmer to do. He's not in power, and even if he became PM tomorrow, he still wouldn't be able to do anything in this conflict. Isreal will always do whatever it wants so long as the US has its back.
And as sad as the situation is over there right now, it's going to have a minor impact on our next GE as the majority of voters will care more about their own lives improving.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The impact it will have is people judging Starmer as a leader. Not necessarily about what position he takes on this issue but his conviction. The issue some will have is that he appears to be sitting on the fence and doing what works best for his position. Not trying to alienate anyone by taking a strong position in case it costs him votes or support. More vanilla and lacking conviction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is not sitting on the fence. He is toeing the "Israel has a right to defend itself" line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sacha Deshmukh, the chief executive of Amnesty International UK, said: “In failing to call for an immediate ceasefire, Keir Starmer is not showing the clear and principled leadership that this decades-old crisis needs.”
He said it was “deeply disappointing” that Starmer “did not use this moment to be clear that under his leadership the UK would be consistent and rigorous in supporting international law”.
Perhaps sitting on the fence is the wrong phrase, but does imply weakness, just as toeing the line does. It is to lack true conviction and he is clearly playing this the way that suits him best, but then he is a politician.

Even some of the neighbouring Arab states aren't even backing Palestine as is being discussed above.
Israel are our allies. Hamas are not. Hamas are Terrorists and would wipe Israel off the map without a moment's hesitation if they had the man power and capability to do it yet people want to side with them?

All monikers are made up, to be fair.
Given Hamas’ actions, it’s not a wild statement to describe them as a terrorist organisation. The issue is why they exist in the first place, rather than the label they are given.
What weird is that people are willing to accept the word of our Government, just because.
Do you think Mandela was a terrorist, because our Government did.
Most normal people consider him an anti-apartheid activist.
Personally I don't give fvck who were sullied with. Wasn't do long ago that this country thought Hitler was okay and look how that turned out.

Of course it's not wild. It's exactly what they are.
Hamas don't want to have peace with Israel and live side by side until the end of their days. They want to destroy them but only they know they can't because they don't have the numbers nor resources to do it. That's literally the only thing stopping them from doing it.
The whole region is a mess and I doubt we will see it resolved in our lifetimes.

Our government, the US government, Canada, Australia and the entire EU are all wrong then? That's essentially what you're saying.
The UAE have recognised Israel as a sovereign state and there's talks that Saudi Arabia of all places are soon going to soon do the same much to the annoyance of Iran.
I suppose Saudi Arabia might well be doing it for political favour what with the world cup heading there and the many huge infrastructure projects they are currently working on to attract tourism and enterprise from the west. Some statement that would be though.
Who are with Hamas? Who supports their cause?

I always find this stance a bit weird.
They are/they're not terrorists because someone says so.
Nelson Mandela was branded a terrorist.
Now someone said to me that Mandela didn't invade homes and execute people but I'm not sure you can invade your own home can you?
I also don't think you can have a war against someone who has no navy, army or air force.
Israel is an occupying, apartheid state and for me, that's the issue that needs fixing and until it is, there will be attacks on people occupying that land.

As far as I'm concerned, both sides are as bad as each other and only dialogue will sort this out. Trump wanted to build a wall between US and Mexico which was nonsensical, perhaps Israel and Palestine need such a wall built to keep themselves apart.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The little problem is Israel want the whole of Palestine and Hamas doesn't believe Israel have a right to exist.
There is just too much hate on both sides.
We are at the beginning of the end game for that part of the world. Israel have USA and UK as back up and Palestine have Iran, Yeman and who knows who else.

Isnt that exactly what the group he was part of did? and the old necklacing where they put a tire filled with petrol on a person and set it on fire?

Dunno tbh, just know that Mandela was labelled by the Tories as a terrorist and then suddenly wasn't which just goes to show that in reality, that moniker is made up.

Israel have a lot more than UK & USA backing them. Try most of the western world!

.
Are the Israeli government seen internationally as Terrorists like Hamas are then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is utter ballacks.
The US, UK, Canada Australia and the entire EU are siding with Israel.

What's weird about it? Basically the entire western world and majority of the major democracies on the planet are all with Israel.

For me, if you support Israel, you support apartheid, which I'm not up for.
You can make your own choice.

Allied* not sullied although that still kinda works.

I am not taking sides with anyone. Evil on both sides but completely different types of evil and ideologies. It's a very complex situation as we know.
