It's a load of absolute bo$$ocks.

Why just 10 points?

Why wait until now?

Stinks but I fully expected it.

Btw, I always have to laugh when people bring up Man City & Chelsea but not schum. They're worse than anyone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think point deductions or fines or even relegations 2,3 or more divisions would make any difference to these clubs, no because, they are too rich.

I know it was 100 years ago but Leeds City were thrown out of the league for making illegal payments, at a time when other clubs were doing the same, why isn't that a sanction the authorities will consider now?

A ten point penalty handing the title to Arsenal or Spurs or costing Chelsea a European place is next to meaningless, as is this 10 point penalty imposed on Everton, Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United will still be relegated.

Still, anything to deflect from that awful England game.

Leeds finished 19th instead of 18th.

Certainly can argue that we lost out of around £1m prize money (from memory its about £1m per position). We could sue for that possibly.

As for relegation I think its an embarrassment to sue for anything else. We went down for our own terrible decisions on and off the field. Should have started saving money by getting Kinnears 568k off the wage bill.

Feels like they've done it now to mitigate the damage to the much beloved never relegated Everton. Had they gotten it last season or the season before (when the rules were broken), they'd have been relegated in both campaigns.

Well it's still not going to compensate teams that got relegated as a consequence of them acquiring players they had no right to and helped them stay up at the expense of Burnley 2 years ago and Leicester last season and despite Everton gaining an unfair advantage I can't see how Leeds has a case because we finished below Leicester and had Everton got their punishment last season we'd still have got relegated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Leeds might look at a different picture. If Everton hadn’t acquired players by breaking rules then maybe they wouldn’t have taken 4 points off us last season. Those points might have put us above both them and Leicester.

It’s difficult to see how things might have panned out had we won both our games and got 6 points instead of 1.

I’m not sure we will go for it though. Too many variables I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally would accept that we were sh!t and didn't deserve to stay up. Leicester have a good case to sue, though. My big question is why wasn't the penalty imposed last season, when they most benefited from their dodgy dealings?

Did Everton get away with something?

You're damn right they did - as have Man City. Chelsea are under investigation again but Boehly will sort it, he's rich enough and can't afford not to.

I'm sure there are accounting anomalies everywhere and perhaps even at LUFC. It's a dodgy business which attracts dodgy people.

From Moshiri's perspective, a 10-point deduction is a very small price to pay what with everything that's been going on in the blue bit of Liverpool. I bet pulling that rabbit out of the hat was SUPER expensive.

This "light touch" style of governance suggests that sooner rather than later, there will be a state-appointed watchdog to regulate how the game is being run.

It's reasonable to believe that Everton should be down in the Championship and in financial meltdown right now. The PL has clearly shown that it is totally incapable of policing itself. Truly competitive sports can only be played on a level playing field.

If I was an Everton fan, I'd be feeling mighty relieved and if I was Moshiri (who's obviously not), I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.
