I don't know why people keep saying he has to change his tactics.

we went more defensive against wolves and it went horribly. we played our football against villa and were unlucky to lose
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well surely sometimes you have to hang onto a lead and see out a game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what you wanted us to start hanging on for a lead during the first half when we were ahead? hang on to a lead for 60 minutes with Royal and Davies at the back? even though the first cross that came in led to a goal for Villa?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but in injury time, like in the Wolves game would be a start.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we had 6 shots in that game and Wolves had 17. the problem was we were clinging on too much and inviting wolves onto us.

just a lazy narrative to see we lost a game late on and say we were therefore too attacking and Ange needs to change his tactics.

He doesn’t need to change his tactics, but he needs a plan b.

This isn’t the f*cking Scottish league.

stop speaking in clichés, you've not managed to make a single compelling point that suggests Ange is being naive and too attacking.

Well if we lose against City that will be four on the bounce, and we should be allowed to ask questions.

As far as I’m concerned the honeymoon period is over and he needs to show he’s up to the job.

From title winning form, to relegation form, that’s a pretty compelling argument.

If you’re playing Spurs, you’d tell the team (unless you’re City) to weather the storm for the first 20mins, let us use all our energy and hit us in the second half when we tire.

However, if we had players who could finish - we could be 2 or 3 up against some teams by then. Chance conversion is a massive issue for this team.

Can’t we drop off a bit for 5 or 10 minutesinterms of how high we defend in games to take some of the heat out? Not sure that’s really going against everything he believes in - just playing the game that’s in front of you.

I’m sure I read somewhere that we’ve outperformed our XG this season.

A stat to take with a pinch of salt but it suggests we are clinical - god forbid we get worse.

But I’m not panicking - was always going to be an up and down season

again, where is the example (barring the Chelsea game which you can throw out because it's a total outlier) of us dropping points due to being overly aggressive? the goals against wolves and villa all came from moments where we took our foot of the gas and tried to see out the game.

you're just using the results to justify the conclusion you already had in your head

This season was always going to be up and down.

He needs three windows and proper backing before we can really see where we are.

However, Ange isn’t some kind of god like messiah who can’t be questioned.

I’d massively question the Johnson and Kulu signings as much as I love the VDV, Vicario and Maddison signings.

And as much as I love the high line, high press, I think the players could sit back a bit for a period in a game otherwise they’ll be knackered. Villa picked us off in the second half. I’m sure I heard he like to make like for like changes around 70mins to see a game out - we don’t have that in the squad yet.

I'm happy with the style of footie, the summer signings and I'm not in anyway thinking that Ange is out if his depth.

However there are things that need urgently addressing.

1. Romero’s ridiculous ill discipline.

2. Sons inability to stay onside.

3. Failing to get so much as a point from 3 games in a row where we scored first.

Just saying!!?

I don’t agree. I thought we ran out of steam. Had we scored 3 goals, it would’ve been fine. But we didn’t and bar Burnley we haven’t scored more than 2. For the amount of chances we have, that’s another issue.

I’d say we need another top CB, goal scoring midfielder, striker and a top winger (preferably 2)

That could take 4 windows.

When we lose to City, Ange should be under no pressure at all.

He knows better than a bunch of keyboard warriors. Injuries and suspensions are killing us. It would help if his captain showed up and lead the line properly instead of being offside 3 or 4 times.

Had we had a defensive coach people would be saying we should go all out attack fighting. At least have a go.

Honestly some people need to give their head a wobble.

Yday we had a makeshift CB partnership. Bents, GLC and Gil started their first games in yonks and Ange still managed to get a tune out of the team.

Our passing in the first half was joy to watch, against a pretty much full strength Villa team who are a well oiled team at this point.

Us on the otherhand, are pretty much starting from fresh again with the injuries and players coming back into the team.

We will give City a game but they will overcome us. No bih deal. The homes games against West Ham and Newcastle are more winnable but will be tough.

Patience is required.

Well you might be fine with losing 3 in the bounce, but I’m not, and let’s not forget be completely f*cked the League Cup too, and he couldn’t cite injuries and suspensions for that.

Yes, we have been waiting an eternity for success but if fans cannot see the promise of this manager and this group and are not prepare to wait, give them time, let us build on the fabulous base we now have then we will never ever succeed. Improvement takes time to implement and to create a squad fit for purpose. No one does this overnight.

For sure, be impatient with Levy. If we don't make this work over the next 2 windows then its a massive failure. But surely, right now, when we are averaging 2 points a game, fans are just acting like spoilt little twaaaats if they are expecting more.

Most people had realistic expectations before the season. Nothing has changed.

Wow wee we lost a few games. It's not like thats never happened before. Should have learned to deal with a loss by now tbf.

Patience.

We’ve been waiting decades for a sniff at even minor success, how much patience are we supposed to have ffs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, we have been waiting an eternity for success but if fans cannot see the promise of this manager and this group and are not prepare to wait, give them time, let us build on the fabulous base we now have then we will never ever succeed. Improvement takes time to implement and to create a squad fit for purpose. No one does this overnight.

For sure, be impatient with Levy. If we don't make this work over the next 2 windows then its a massive failure. But surely, right now, when we are averaging 2 points a game, fans are just acting like spoilt little twaaaats if they are expecting more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ange is 6 months into his 4 year contract and currently we are performing way above par in terms of the league position.

I thought yday was going to be much worse but after City we will be ok.

Six more games after City until the window opens and the likes of Son, Sarr and Bissouma go away. That's another challenge for Ange to deal with further down the line. But after City, games are more winnable.

Patience.

Cool, so the message is, expect mediocrity and failure and you won’t be disappointed, got it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No the message is patience and take results on the chin like man. If you cannot see the patterns of play, the intensity and pressing, then you are just another Karen on here moaning for the sake of it.

As long as the players are buying into Ange I have no problem. Do they look like they are downing tools?
