The justices who voted for this decision need to be disbarred. Their decision essentially violates the basic principle and foundation of our American justice system.
These are activist judges. Shame to go through all of the years in law school and still be complete morons.
For starters, Jack Smith - who was the special prosecutor assigned to investigate Trump for an alleged conspiracy to commit an insurrection - didn’t even charge him with doing so. So how can any judge rule with 1) a criminal charge and 2) a trial?
This is why their decision will be ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.
But what a message to send to Republican voters in that state…telling them that they can only vote for who they allow to be on the ballot. What’s next? Remove any GOP candidate who is beating Biden in the polls?
Anyway, but am I surprised about what happened? Of course not. Democrats are the best when it comes to showing themselves for who they really are. This is a party that likes to silence its critics, wants to implement a Ministry of Truth, and now seeks to prevent political opponents from running for office. Fascism at its finest.

Thinking is that if Trump were not the nominee for the GOP then maybe someone like Gavin Newsome would be on the Democratic ticket.

I get the impression that there are plenty of Democrats who'd rather see another candidate stand.
It doesn't mean a large majority won't back Biden if it comes to it, but I do think he might have trouble mobilising the bases and that perhaps more Democrats will choose to stay home this time around.
