There's a difference between judging a player, and knowing what he is...he is a good player and will contribute, but he isn't an out and out goalscorer, I know that much, so I'm not expecting many goals from him if he starts up top on his own

You totally contradict yourself in what you are saying.....we will have brought 3 players in this window without spending any money you say.....then say to bring in a striker we need to spend £5m...what, can we only get midfielders, number 10s and left backs for no immediate fee like, that how it works?

I do know there needs to be a buyer for a player like Wright, you continue focusing on Wright if you want...there are other players in this squad that have had interest, in this window, so there are people looking at them

I gave an example of two strikers from our league that can be trusted to hit double figures, and that they will cost at least 5m. I dont see either of them delaying that payment til summer.

none of they players bring in the cash required to get a proven goal scorer mid season like you think.

Also as HB said Silva is our number 9.

I do ... I gave examples of proven goalscorers in the scottish league that will cost you 5m ..... we aint a big league so to get proven goalscrorers in similar or better leagues will cost that or more.

And like I said you have decided that Silva wont be that guy, then say you aint judging him til end of season?

And I also said selling Yilmaz now would be silly... if he keeps up his form and continues to cement his place in the team his value will be a good bit more in the summer.

We did replace Danillo, we did it with Silva. Silva has had 1 start and two subs, he has played no 9 in all of them.

I just do not agree with that mate, pure and simple

there would still have been fees paid.... and like I said FFP will also restrict us in the summer due to this.

Silva will be a striker for us... you might not like it and might judge him already in that role, but thats how he has been utilised so far and will continue to do so. (he didnt replace Lammers he was in before Lammers left)

He played far more games as a 9 for PSV than he did wide. He played every game for Anderlecht as a striker.

He played 20 league games for Anderlecht, as a striker, and scored 7 goals

Matondo played 26 games mainly as a winger for Cercle Brugge and scored 9....is he an out and out goalscorer like?

Silva isn’t a 10. He’s just not a typical in the box striker, but neither is Shankland. Difference is Shankland is a proven finisher.

Lammers has gone to Holland and is playing well as an out and striker too, no surprise he’s still not scoring though. Don’t know why we think we should play strikers in midfield.
