Delighted.

Flog off Hjojberg and replace with Gallagher and this would be 9/10 window!

Werner yesterday
Dragusin today

Who's signing tomorrow then

If we get him registered before the United game and manage to flog Dier at the same time then it's a great start to the window.

Good call. Getting rid of Dier would be like a new signing. That can be tomorrow's deal

Werner, Dragusin, Gallagher in and Dier and PEH out would indeed be a very good window. Although the lack of goals is still a concern without any Son and Maddison. You're relying on Werner to come in and be an improvement on his current levels, which might happen. If we aren't getting one now we absolutely must get a number 9 in next summer.

Winning the Dragusin saga was like throwing a custard pie in Bayerns face. Selling them Dier would be like following it up with a kick in the nuts. Would be sweet karma after their sheite housery last summer.

Dear Dragusin's agent, you are a piece of filth and a disgrace.

I'm embarrassed at your sense of reasoning.

Dumb f*ck! KEEP OUR CLUB OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!

That would be 10/10 !!!!

Just so refreshing to get signings in early with time ti setttle and actually play in games we need them

Dunno whether its Ange, Don or Levy but fair play to them.... Job well done...... anyone else at any point in the window from here would be a major bonus

Gallagher is apparently on £50k a week and has 1.5 years left on his Chelsea contract.

Classic Levy target !

Can’t see us signing Gallagher personally. Poch clearly rates him and he’s a Chelsea lad who would want to stay. He’s getting lots of game time. It would take the Chelsea board to force him out over his and Poch’s head. And even if they did that, would we then be getting a player that really wants to play for Spurs, which is vital for Ange? I doubt it. I’ve never seen any mileage in this rumour, and certainly not as a Jan transfer this window.

Is Gallagher good enough anyway?

He plays in a midfield with 2x 100m players and they are all schit.

Yeah I thought this myself tbh. But the rumours keep being mentioned. Plus his contract you’d think would’ve been extended already. Chelsea seemingly selling any academy players of value to balance their books.

We apparently bid for him at the end of the summer window.

Im not sold on it, think he's a bit technically limited and runs around chasing the ball.

Chelsea are in financial need and their best way out of their immediate issues is to sell academy products , who cost nothing so represent pure profit on the books (as opposed to saving the much smaller amortised cost). Gallagher is probably the most immediate option and they may well need to sell.

Personally im not that bothered but can see merit in the deal.

Yeah that you would think gives credence to any potential deal, with how an academy sale is accounted for.

On Gallagher I like him. He has bags of energy and chips in with goals and assists. He looked very good in an average Palace side. Plus the fact he still gets games at Chelsea despite the money they have thrown at midfield also is a positive.

Agree with you both. Basically, think he's better suited to the way Ange Plays than PEH

Not convinced Gallagher would be a Hojbjerg replacement. Hasn't Hojbjerg always played in Bissouma's position under Ange?

I see people mention Gallagher as a possible 6 but I'm not sure he's ever played there - doesn't/didn't he play as an 8/10 for Chelsea/Palace/England

posted on 10/1/24

He is not afraid to get stuck and can play in the 6.

posted on 10/1/24

I think it’s the fact we have Bissouma, Skipp and Hjojberg in the 6. Skipp has only played the 8 when Hjojberg has been also playing in the 6 under Ange.

Bentancur, Lo Celso and Gallagher would be more than capable of playing at least 2 of the 3 MF roles imo.

Interesting thread on him. Let’s face it, we were all desperate for him to come but I doubt anyone here has actually seen him play 😂

Hey Fridgey Widgey

Do you remember this bad boy?

https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/453250

Fab's got you on a string lad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of that still holds up. It's worth remembering that he is still banned from football worldwide. There's no doubt that his little black book has opened doors in Italy but I think it's a bit of a grey area to discover who is truly responsible for a recent upturn in recruitment targets. For instance, our real game changing signings that have made a real difference lately are Vicario, Maddison, VDV and Bissouma. You can only really give credit to Paratici on one of those targets. Now it might be that the scouting system he's put in place is responsible for everything. I know he's overseen a huge change in the scouting ops so maybe I was wrong, I'm happy to hold my hands up on that one but let's be real here, anyone that signs Emerson for 30m, Gil for 25m + Lamela and has criminal proceedings over his head (aside from the crime of signing those two) deserves to be questioned.

Ultimately we have vastly improved our recruitment in the last year or so so I'm happy to be wrong if he is the man behind it all but we can't know for sure. Honestly, a lot of it is down the Ange. It's amazing how much better players look under a good manager. We've just not had one for years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is still working in football and currently a consultant for us. Clearly not banned.

Weird how you forget to mention Sarr, Udogie, Romero, Kulu and Bentancur lol.

He also is credited with transforming the youth policy. For example he tied down Mikee Moore to a pro contract. Something which was forbidden at Spurs for a 16 year old. You only have to look at how each youth team is performing right now as well.

"He appears to be some sort of megalomaniac with little regard for the destruction he leaves behind. He's a butcher, not a surgeon."

The above describes your take on football rather than the Don.

I watched the chelsea game last night and lost count of the number of times Gallagher gave the ball away. Yeah it was only one game but I don’t see what the fuss is about

But if Ange wants him…
