Lawrence is barely a bowler, he might get the odd cheap wicket with his strange style especially in t20 but he's never going to produce balls like Rehan already can.
Rahul and Jadeja out of the next test I've just seen.

Did anyone see his brother Farhan has been playing at the u19 world cup for England? He’s only 15.

It's probably just the cliché saying but he's apparently even more highly rated than Rehan.

Yeah I have read that’s the case.
Rehan reminds me of Shadab. Not really a top leg spinner and will do more damage in white ball cricket.
What happened to Will Jacks? didnt he bowl in a test match? Looks better than Lawrence for sure.

Bit harsh.
He had 1 poor test with the ball but he's still only 19 and playing in a country that's known to be difficult for leg spinners.
But I do agree with Kash that he'll probably end up more a white ball bowler.

He didn't get a central contract which seems a bit strange given he feels like he's a long term Moeen Ali replacement. He's obviously going to feature a lot in the white ball side and is playing in the SA20 at the moment. Perhaps the ECB are allowing him to cash in for a bit before he returns to test cricket in 2-3 years.

Good question, Dean Elgar has come in on a 3 year contract to replace Cook which is a good acquisition as he was Somerset bound to go and be captain. We've got Jordan Cox coming in also who could bat 4 but Critchley could step up to 4 as Cox will keep I think.

Took a 6fer on debut. Given Rehan took a 5fer on debut and Hartley a 7fer. Maybe our strategy should be to keep picking debutants as they're unknown quantities.
yeah Jacks looks like he can hold a bat. I know hes not done great at ODI level. but thats another format. I think hes more likely to succeed at test level.
handy bowler as well. but is he good enough to either play in the top 6 or has a bowler?. thats the main question that needs to be answered.

Leach confirmed as a doubt for the second test now which is no surprise really. If we do go 2 seamers then I suspect Ahmed will play over Bashir due to all the right handers they have and Jadeja coming out means they may only have 1 left hander in their line up.
