For me it is about control. Control one aspect of your life then you can control other aspects. Take Greenwood for example, he has been shown to be controlling in his relationship, and she knows who the boss is. This can be achieved either through physical domination or coercive control. A combination of both is most effective. And I know he has come under some criticism from the snowflake woke brigade but as I have said above, control one aspect of your life and you will be able to control other aspects. He has shown this for Getafe as he has been banging them in.
Rashford on the other hand is being a little biiiatch and letting her control him. That translates to being dominated on the pitch by even the weakest of opposition players. I am not saying that he should beat or raaape his partner. I am just providing evidence that it works, and if he truly values himself he will have the courage to give it a go.

Not worth it
Good OP, Diafol (and vintage fishing, Barry).
I think a lot of us, listening to Klopp's interview about his decision to leave, could appreciate how much mental energy it consumes competing on a sporting level, with all the pressures and sacrifice that entails, while simultaneously experiencing the unrelenting attention that comes with being the face of one of the world's most high-profile sporting teams. Year after year. Coming into that situation as a kid rather than a mature man who already has some perspective on life and on who he is, and going through as many ups as downs, and the even greater scrutiny and noise that comes with being at United, and the chaos of the club itself during his time here, and the acclaim and hate he attracted due to his social conscience - I'd be amazed if that didn't take a toll on Rashford.
Generally, I'm not a fan of berating players for the crime of playing below the expected level, nor of losing focus. What does that achieve? Do they really deserve it? Will it make them feel better? Will it make them play better? To the extent that the attitude of fans impacts the performance of their team and their individual players, I'd say the more unconditional and fervent the support the players receive, the stronger and more motivated they feel.
I disagree that the fans shouldn't criticize poor performances. The only reason there's professional sport is because people pay to watch, buy the shirts n all that. You can't have fame and glory and wealth without the downsides.
I'm not saying Rashford shouldn't be depressed or whatever (if he is actually depressed) but I'm sure he'd acknowledge that he couldn't have helped the schoolkids if he weren't in his position as a Man United player.
It's 100% on the club to be more proactive in this stuff, to protect their asset if nothing else. Nothing to do with fans really IMO.

Fair points.
It could be many things of course but perhaps going to the club was a kind of (misguided) release for him. In my experience people with depression can hide it from certain people and try to act as they always have done.
It could also be that due to the fact he's worked hard when he was young to be a footballer he's entered the 'rebel' stage of his life now. I know in many ways I was much more sensible between the ages of 16-24 than I was from 24-28.
Maybe I'm just making an excuse for his poor performances and seeming lack of application but I do think something isn't right at present.

Robbing. The above is where he needs the people around him to advise him better IMO.
If we were winning every week with him in the goals then it would have been put down to hi-jinks or something but he shouldn't have been at that club in a different country a night before training really. Whether he was drunk or not the optics aren't great.

of course I didnt know. Hes a new name.
He keeps changing his ID to blend in to the other window lickers who post chite like this on here and actually mean it.
He should try posting under the name Barry and we will see how good he actually is at this.
An important comparison to make is between do-gooder snowflakes and real men who aren't afraid to act naturally as a man, and see how that impacts upon performance, in a football context.
Do-gooders:
Rashford - Dropped right off once he started trying to help children eat
Mane - Built hospitals and schools and such for his village, form dropped right off and flopped at Bayern
Ozil - Gave all his world cup earnings to fund the surgery for 23 Brazilian kids in 2014. He never regained his Real Madrid form for club or country
Mata - Founded his Common Goal charity in 2017, only scored a total of 4 PL goals after that. Fell right off
Balotelli - Got on big bucks at Man City, started giving half his wages to charity and became half the player, dropping down to Liverpool then down the European leagues.
How about the do-badders:
Greenwood - Followed his manly instincts. Banging them in for Getafe
Ronaldo - Maybe or maybe did not done a raaape in 2009. Became one of the best players ever immediately after.
Benzema - 2021 gets found guilty for blackmail in seeex tape case. Has the season of his life and wins Ballon D'Or
Jermaine Pennant - Drink driving, which any man should do because we are men and we drive better when drunk anyway. Goes on to ace La Liga proving it in England and Spain, which Messi couldn't do.
The list goes on.
As previously mentioned, If men act like real men by carrying out manly acts like raaape, blackmail, drink driving etc, then they are far more likely to succeed on the pitch. Snowflakes who do stuff for charity very quickly lose their ability on the pitch.
So either Rashford MANS UP, or he will never regain his form. He could even start with verbal abuse towards his partner. Small steps to getting back to form but he needs to start making progress or I will not be supporting him.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to try and mitigate your own players actions.
Depressed or not, it’s simply selfish in my eyes, but there we go.
It’s not like I’ve never done it either!

Robbing. The above is where he needs the people around him to advise him better IMO.
If we were winning every week with him in the goals then it would have been put down to hi-jinks or something but he shouldn't have been at that club in a different country a night before training really. Whether he was drunk or not the optics aren't great.

Its not getting caught out tho is it. Barry posts some quite sensible posts these days.

If what you're saying is "I knew it's Barry but I thought he was being serious", I'm afraid you've still been Barry'd.

of course I didnt know.
