Hopefully this kid turns out to be more Sarr than spence.

For all the hype about our great FFP, for me it has yet to show its teeth in the transfer market. All it’s done is stopped clubs doing any business at all. Even us with all our FFP greatness have inly signed a back up cb and a loan.

Hopefully more will happen in the summer, but I’m told it resets in June? I don’t really understand it all to be honest but we hardly pushed the boat out in jan did we, surely if it was as bad for other clubs as is being made out, many more would have sold?

Honestly our fans.

No other club does any business. We make three different types of signing - a loan to tide us over for a player who has slotted straight in and had an impact. A permanent signing of a highly rated CB - a player we’ve been tracking for a while and in an area of clear need. And a younger player that Barcelona were about to sign who has clearly been scouted as one for the future - y’know, to future proof the squad.

All sensible signings, about £35m spent. But you’ve stick got Mack whinging and Sizz doing his tiresome pouty girl with PMT routine because what, we didn’t sign Mbappe?

It doesn’t reset in June, the rules will be amended in June to come in line with UEFA. Clubs that are close to the limit on FFP have clearly held off signing players so not to push themselves over the edge given the situations with Everton and Forest who are in breach. They are waiting it out, watching to see if punishments are upheld, while the PL flexes its muscles to show it can deal with such matters and fend off the imposition of an independent regulator.

It doesn’t mean all clubs have to have a fire sale. Nor does it mean we are suddenly in a position to go big. It just means that it’s a quieter window as many clubs are being cautious, but clubs that are well under the profit & sustainability threshold like us can go about our business as usual. Which we’ve done. We are the only club that has legitimately strengthened ourselves for the second half of the season.

£96m spent in this window compared to £815m last January.

And Spurs spent 2nd most after Palace.

I think our business is good. If we wanted Gallagher there was no point if Hojbjerg was staying , and he'll get cheaper in the summer.

If we wanted a top striker, nows not the time to target that area.

If fully fit the squad is pretty strong and we will no doubt look to make some upgrades in the summer, hopefully with the benefit of UCL to boost our coffers and attraction.

I think it's been one of our best managed windows in a long time.

Totally agree...... Put in context with what we did in the summer and over the 2 windows I don't think we could have realistically asked for more... Especially given the fact we have less games than in prev years with No Europe.

Replacing Kane was gonna be impossible but we have integrated a new system and culture while finding great value in the mkt and building a solid platform for the future with talented young players.

It's worth noting that there hasn't been much coming through the academy in recent years, so we have done a good job planning for the future.

Rome wasn't built in a day...... Esp in this FFP environment..

Wait for what ????? Yes Ange Facked up in the league Cup but we lost to Prime City in the FA Cup but are sitting 4th after a nightmare 1st half of the season...... Prospects look good.

At some point you have to press the resent button. We all know we haven't won anything since 2008 but you have to start fresh at some point. Its Ange's 1st season, New mgmnt team in place, Stadium built and generating tons of cash, Recruitment much improved and the football is really good.... Yes, Levy is still there But that's his call (nothing anything anybody can do about that)..... But you have to move forward and have a bit of enthusiasm... otherwise what's the point ?

We all wanna win a trophy but we live in an environment where we are competing with Prime City & Liverpool.

I would say Spurs are better position than 90% of the clubs in Europe..... Let's see where it takes us.....

All I know Is that I'd rather be where we are now that stuck with Conte and his dire football and attitude even if he had delivered a league cup for example.

I've been supporting Spurs for 39 Years and I'm as upbeat & enthusiastic about them now as I have been since the early 90's with Lineker/ Gazza etc

Maybe its a generational thing but I fail to see why fans get so worked up about this "Spursy" tag or rival fans taking a shot at us about not winning a trophy.... It doesn't bother me in the slightest. None of us work for the club or are responsible in any way. Take it on the chin, accept we have been crap and move on.

Chelsea & United are broken, City are highly dubious (despite the fantastic football)...... I suspect over the next few years there might be a few (including me !) that might look back on this period and accept that while he's made plenty of mistakes (who hasn't) that we owe levy a bit of an apology ! Yes he's still a money grabbing little b@stard...... but he's no fool

Id quite like to experience those feeling again, at least ONCE more before I die of f*cking old age.

I mean, the manager has been here 6 months and overall we’re doing pretty well. Have you watched the Pep documentary on BBC iPlayer? He was getting slated halfway through his first season, second season they won the league with 100 points. A coach can’t transform everything overnight, and the club hierarchy seem to have finally got a decent model together in terms of recruitment. You need to stop having hissy fits every five minutes and look at the bigger picture.

Again, not a moan, I’m just asking the question. Feel free to actually attempt to answer it . If we are kings of FFP , when will we start to see it? I’m not criticising our business, but it is not indicative of a supposed era where clubs are scrambling around to sell their best players to satisfy ffp and spurs are hoovering them up. As I said I don’t understand the ins and outs but I hear lots of praise for our managing of the ffp situation, so my question is WHEN will we see the effect of it? Chelsea didn’t have to sell Gallagher and I’m told it resets in June anyway?

I want spurs to show ambition for the now as well as the future, and, if this ffp thing is going how some fans tell me it is, then now is the time to have it large.

It’s healthy to question what you see rather than just believe what you’re told.

Feel free to go on about winging etc if you like though.

“So another child we’ll have to loan out”.

“Just asking”.

Leave it out Sizz, the continuous passive aggressive, sardonic one line comments having digs about the manager and signings and everything else. It’s the virtual equivalent of being stood there with your arms folded, lips pouted and insisting “I’m FINE” when clearly the painters are in and any minor issue is gonna get blown out of all proportion.
