Who was MoM?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
New lad, Grizzly Adams
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I was Bristol City Id be after him in the summer...
..Adams, Bird & Knight
My lad says Adams is like a black George Thorne. Not sure if he means his football ability or his gorgeousness though.
Football ability. His addition seems very like the addition of Nyambe. If he keeps this up he will be a tremendous signing.
Namibia - Gambia - we just need that Zambian connection now!
And

Saudi Arabia
😊
Evening all, just back from the airport run, how was the game in the second half?

My source says that Charlton put us under a lot of pressure in the second half but that they didn't really create anything. He likened it to the Wigan game.

Thanks Vidal 👍🏼
This also seems to be borne out by the highlights.....

Next time we face Charlton we'll have a top 5 European coach at Pride Park in the opposite dugout ( according to the coach himself) as the Addicks plan to appoint Nathan Jones.
Sheer club suicide!
Good result after the commotion of the transfer window. Bird played well from what I've seen. The 5-3-2 formation leaves me concerned not so much for the result but the revolt. It feels like we're one result away from triggering the restless Derby fans.
A mate of mine messaged me earlier today to say he's concerned by the actions in the background with supporters meetings cancelled twice and fan groups excluded. Anyone able to shed more light in that?
After the admin season with all fans united its such a shame to see the supporters splintered.... especially as we're still in the hunt for automatic promotion.
Just read that the current top five all have identical form over their last five games, W3, D1, L1.
Fortunately for us, none of those five dropped points are against any of the other four.
Form is temporary, class is permanent.
A stitch in time.............
Not my circus, not my monkey..
Any update on the NML injury?
Max Bird yesterday playing some lovely touches and passes and lots of pace. Perhaps not being under any pressure now the transfer has gone through he can try stuff without the fear of being dropped if it doesn’t come off. Then again it could be that having a ball winning midfielder in Adam’s has left him to concentrate on more creative parts of his game. He is definitely more Beckham than Keane.
Cheers Spart.
I'll say it again. We need to celebrate the wins just as much as we critically analyze the losses and express our frustrations over them.
As PW said after the game, got to milk it. Probably a bit too far but okay!
How did Hourihane perform yesterday considering his recent form and reaction from the fans?
Is Fornah out due to being a bad trainer at present or is there a further issue?
Could Sibley yet get a contract renewal as an aux LWB as he's doing it again this season by offering better performances in this position?
Given an African international has done well in defence and one in midfield has proven a 'hit' with the fans, does it make sense to have an African international up front too?
Sourpuss Mourihno swore by it stating every club he managed he ensured an African CF was used.
Finding the next Drogba is probably not all that straightforward. I think we sometimes under-estimate the extent to which the club was decimated pre-Clowes. Not only are we still paupers when it comes to transfer budget (contrary to what seems to be the general perception amongst fans of other clubs) but we also lost a lot of infrastructure. When Warne was interviewed after the end of the transfer window he said we are still not really in a position to look at the international market but that will be another part of the rebuilding process moving forwards.
An interesting thought. For me with his experience of 3 promotions from L1 Warne was always the right guy to lead us at this time. Equally we're doing well considering as a club we're still being held back by EFL restrictions and yet [as of today] we're in 2nd place. If you look back, when Warne joined us Rotherham were 7th in the Championship. They're now bottom ... and seemingly stranded in the relegation zone...whilst we're seemingly on the up. Food for thought for those who dont like Warne...

I’m not entirely sure what your point is Terry. Warne also presided over 3 relegations with Rotherham, so if you are inferring Rotherham are worse off without him, I don’t think it’s true. Whilst I will give credit where credit is due, he has made Derby hard to beat. That said, I’m not a fan of Warnes as the style of play is awful.
I’m neither all for or all against Warne, there is no right and wrong. I think the brand of football is efficient rather than easy on the eye. Closing down quickly, winning second balls and getting blocks in. One for all and all for one. I don’t know how far that can take us but we have to back him and the team and cross our fingers. With one hand tied behind his back as regards incomings there are always going to be limitations and maybe he is getting as much as he can out of the tools in his box. If he does get us up I think we would need to play slightly differently even to survive in the Championship but maybe that would come with better quality players. Confident no, hopeful always.
